  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a splendid Lincolnshire location this is – with easy access to the pitches on tarmac roads, dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park sits on the banks of the River Witham. You’re on holiday, so you’re justified in settling down by the water for lengthy periods with a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has a mile of fishing along the river, just 20 metres from the pitches – it’s good for tench, carp and bream. Keen to stay active? Lucky then that there’s a gym so you can fit in a good workout. Families can also amuse themselves at the playground and indoor pool (open during high season). If you are plane fans, RAF Conningsby and its World War II museum are 15 minutes’ drive away. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week), but regard it as your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the recently updated pub and restaurant has a beer garden overlooking the river. Every Friday night is happy hour between 5pm–7pm, and there are food offers on Saturday evenings as well as karaoke and bingo in the entertainment lounge. On Sundays, there’s a full carvery from 12pm until late. Local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car, and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

What customers say

Great value site with a friendly vibe by the river, near RAF Coningsby. Pods are well-equipped. Staff are helpful. Peaceful, but expect occasional plane noise. A good base for exploring, many keen to return.

Camping pod

Liked The location is lovely being right next to the river. The pods are a decent size and are a good way to try camping but without the hassle of a tent.

Disliked The first pod we were given was faulty as the door did not lock so we were moved to another pod. The staff were really helpful but not the easiest to locate as nobody was ever in reception even at check out. The new pod we were given had a funny smell and fridge did not work which I think was where the smell was coming from.

From the manager: Hello Helen
Thank you for your review we take the very seriously

I very glad my team acked quickly and changed your pod
We do have a problem as the pods are made of wood shrink and expand with temperature
And the day you were here it was 26'
But I glad qe changed your pod

The pod we moved you in to i very sorry but the fridge is working but I was switch off
Please take my apology and if you ever in the want to come back a free day for you

Qe very small family run campsite with 13 pods
16 touring pitches

My team are around the.park hence they help you change pods

But we are not a hotel !!!!

Its a shame you never came to see us in our amazing tavern with the best freinch chef

All the things we offer hence pitch has voted us 2nd out of 380 other caravan parks
All for £30 pounds per night

Camping pod

Liked First of all, it is far from big cities, with lots of nature, wild birds, squirrels, and rabbits. The owner and staff are so kind and helpful. Toilets and showers are clean and tidy. In pods, everything is working well: the heater, fridge, and kettle. The bar and swimming pool are available to all. And the most important thing - airplanes flying above our heads - is amazing. And the nearest shop is so close.

Disliked For now, the road along the river is in roadworks, but still available.

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre (10 minutes). Take off to Tattershall Castle (10 minutes’ drive) – a textbook version with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from youngsters (and probably their parents too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
