What customers say
A tidy site with grand views and sound staff. Showers are usually grand, but can get a bit wet. Pitches aren't always level. Peaceful and good value, though a bit out of the way for some. Wind can be a bother. Grand spot, many would go back.

Liked Very friendly welcome
Absolutely beautiful scenic location.
There was a distant sound of wildlife (sheep) which we found quite peaceful/ soothing.
Our child had been stung before arrival, nothing to do with site. Staff were very attentive and offered anti histamine and even gave a small squishy to my child to make them feel better.
Site was spotless, facilities well maintained cleaned during the day.
Adequate toilets drinking water supply showers and kitchen facilities.
Disliked Water supply in one of the kitchen hot taps stopped working / lost pressure.
Only 1 bin noted in kitchen couldn't see any other bins.
*Not sites fault* but a family were placed next to us during stay and one of them snored really loudly (disturbing sleep of entire family, and we arent light sleepers) whilst there was other spots nearby we had been placed together and reception wasn't open out of hours so couldn't ask if we could move our tent.

From the manager: Thank you for comments regarding hot tap in kitchen we will look into this and ensure they are working correctly.
I don't know how long you stayed but am sure we could have relocated you to solve problem of snoring if you had stayed longer than one night.

Liked Location & facilities.
Disliked Challenging walk in to Hexham.
Must be fit to navigate the big hill on return if walking.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Unfortunately we are unable to alter our location, the plus side to being on top of the hill is the beautiful views of the Northumbrian Countryside you enjoy when you are on site.
Am pleased to see the location will not prevent you from returning or recommending to your friends.

Somewhat confused about your comments on wheelchair access to laundry room as it is serviced by the same ramp which provides access to the accessible toilet.
We look forward to welcoming you back.

Liked Clean toilet, shower areas.
Plenty of bins
Dog friendly
Disliked Advertised as a quiet site yet for the 2 nights we stayed, there were 2 separate big groups (5 plus families together) up on the field near play park, both of which had music blasting and making loud noise past 12am. The owner was told but didn’t do anything.
The ground was uneven for tents, we had an indoor slide inside the tent
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Further to your comments, we weren't aware of the music problem however the groups have been spoken to and informed there is to be no music played at all and we we have put measures in place to prevent this from happening.
We are sorry your stay was ruined by campers who showed no regard for others on site.
Robert is an absolute legend. Very friendly and helpful.

Liked Clean and tidy toilets, showers and laundry.
Disliked Dogs being off lead. I'd love mine to be off lead all the time but not around campsites as it's not fair to the other dogs on leads being tormented around their pitch.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for posting a positive report for the site.
I note your comment about dogs not being on a lead and that problem has been addressed. Campers are asked to make sure their dogs are on lead at all times.
Delighted you are prepared to return and recommend to friends.
