Fully-serviced grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Wonderful friendly campsite, very quirky with large pitches. Firepit was definitely a bonus as the evenings were drawing in. First time we’ve seen a herb garden in a campsite, such a lovely addition! Very friendly and helpful wardens. Excellent pizza van on Friday night, very welcome after travelling a long way and setting up our campervan and awning.

Fully-serviced grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We love everything about this place and this was our 4th/5th time with our two children [5&7]. The pitches are well set out with plenty of space, the play park is enough for the children and new things have been added since out last time which the kids loved, the pizza takeaway was setting up as we got there and was v.popular.
You've got everything you need & we would have happily stayed longer!

From the manager: Thanks so much for the wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your family had another great stay with us, and that this was your fourth or fifth visit.

It's fantastic that your children enjoyed the new additions to the play park and that you all got to experience our popular pizza takeaway. We work hard to make sure our pitches are spacious and that you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

We can't wait to welcome you all back again soon!

Bell tent (deluxe)

Liked The site had an amazing view and the couple who ran the site were very welcoming, friendly and helpful

Disliked The kids play park was a bit small/outdated but kept ours entertained.

Local pubs were ok but not the best I’ve walked to from a campsite before.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful views and found us to be welcoming, friendly, and helpful.

We're sorry to hear that you won't be visiting us again. We understand that the small play area might not be for everyone, but we've found that most campers, especially those with younger children, appreciate its practical size.

Our campsite is located in a rural area, and the local pubs are traditional country pubs, not larger town pubs. We're glad that you were able to visit them and hope you found them to be as reasonably priced as many of our other visitors have mentioned.

We wish you all the best and hope you find a campsite that is a better fit for you in the future.

I would recommend this site, it’s beautiful

Ready tent

Liked We had a wonderful short stay at Springfields caravan and camping ground.

We hired two ready tents and electrical tent pitch, Accommodated our three families with children from ages between 6-11yrs

Booking was easy and communication excellent — the team even called before our arrival to let us know one of our tents had been damaged in a storm and kindly upgraded us to a trailer with an awning. Sleeping arrangements changed slightly, but management quickly provided an extra camp bed so everyone was comfortable.

The facilities were spotless — clean toilets/showers, well-stocked kitchen, plenty of bins, and even a lovely herb garden. The small play area was the cutest — simple but full of imagination for little ones. We loved the book hut, information hut, and the little wooded area with hammocks. The atmosphere in the evenings was beautiful, with big moonlit skies and the sound of cows in the distance.

Management were super friendly, fair, and professional, even when dealing with a minor noise complaint. The grounds are tidy and full of wildflowers. The only downside was the number of wasps, but this seems to be an issue in the surrounding area, not just the campsite.

We’ve already recommended this site to friends and would happily return.

Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

We only stayed two night and didn’t venture far so cannot comment as to activities in the area

Disliked Slopped pitch (tent ehu)

From the manager: Thanks for your lovely review! We’re so glad you and your families had a wonderful stay at Springfields. It was a pleasure to host you all.

We're delighted to hear that you found the booking process easy and that our team provided excellent communication. We always want to make sure our guests are comfortable, so we're happy we could resolve the tent issue quickly and get you settled. It's great to know that the upgraded trailer and extra camp bed worked out for you!

We take great pride in our facilities, so it’s fantastic that you found them to be spotless. We love that you enjoyed the special touches like our herb garden, book hut, and the wooded area with hammocks. We work hard to create a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, and it's wonderful to hear that you appreciated the beautiful evenings and countryside sounds. We'll pass on your kind words to our management team, who were happy to help with the noise complaint in a fair and professional way.

We appreciate you mentioning the issue with wasps. Unfortunately, this August's very dry weather has created a perfect environment for a larger-than-usual wasp population. They're a significant part of the ecosystem, and their behaviour is often influenced by seasonal conditions. We do our best to manage them, but as you noted, it's a widespread issue in the area this year.

We also appreciate your feedback about the slopped pitch for the electrical hook-up tent. We'll certainly look into this to see what improvements we can make.

We hope to welcome you all back to Springfields again soon and are so glad you've already recommended us to your friends!

We also received your private feedback and we sincerely appreciate the apology. It's very thoughtful of you, and we're glad everything was resolved smoothly.

Staff super helpful and bonus was having an on site pizza van visit.

Fully-serviced grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely site. Beautifully kept with gorgeous flower beds. Has a kettle, microwave and fridge freezer for use which is very handy. There is a very sweet cat who likes to come visit for cuddles....we have nick named her Dusty (fitting for a site called Springfield( ;).

Disliked I had a problem with the showers. One was freezing and the other very hot. Great site and close to Alton Tower's.

We're sorry to hear you had an issue with the showers. We want to assure you that our showers are checked regularly and run on separate boilers. Each shower has its own thermostat that can be adjusted to your personal preference. We hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Fully-serviced grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked beautiful view from our individualised pitch, personal fire pit was a lovely addition as was direct water access. Very close to Alton Tower which was the main reason for our trip. Helpful facilities including lawn games loan and local attractions directory (and washing up facilities). Loos and showers were fine with helpful hooks and shelves/benches in the latter

Disliked pitched close to the road we had a little road noise but not too much that it kept us awake. Walking to pubs means walking on the narrow lane (with said traffic!) but we managed it ok with 2 kids on bikes too.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the beautiful views, the personal fire pit, and the direct water access from your pitch. It's also great that you found our facilities helpful, from the lawn games to the washing-up stations, and that the proximity to Alton Towers made your trip convenient.

We appreciate you bringing up the points about the road noise. We want to clarify for future guests that the noise you heard is from the A50, which is over a mile away, and its audibility can vary significantly depending on the wind direction. We are happy to confirm the traffic noise is not from Breach Lane. We're glad to hear that it wasn't so disruptive that it kept you awake, and we thank you for the feedback regarding the walk to the pubs. Safety is our priority, and we always advise guests to be cautious when walking on country lanes.

We hope to welcome you back again in the future!
