  • No-frills site on a Shropshire farm with views of the Cheshire Plains
  • A 10-minute drive to Market Drayton; half an hour to Stoke on Trent
  • Meet the animals; farm shop selling fresh produce; leave-no-trace site
Set up in a remote spot with birdsong and farm animals as your morning soundtrack… Park Hill Farm is a scenic site on a dog-friendly working farm 10 minutes’ drive from Market Drayton, in north Shropshire. And in case you’re wondering just how scenic the location is… well, it overlooks the Cheshire Plains, Wrekin and the Welsh hills, as well as sitting alongside a woodland that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The site is set up for wild camping – meaning back-to-basics (and eco-friendly) facilities including a toilet and shower block and a convenient washing-up station. It's run on a 'leave no trace' ethos and doesn't have its own bins, so all rubbish must be taken away with you. There’s no electricity or wifi, so instead of scrolling on their phones, children can let off steam in the fresh air and get involved in meeting the animals with the farmer (new friends may include pigs, cows and cats). Sourcing supplies for a gas barbecue is simple, since the site sells free-range eggs from its happy hens, along with its own beef burgers, pork sausages and bacon, plus a handful of pre-packaged essentials like bread, milk, breakfast cereals and ice creams. If you’re in need of any extras, the village of Loggerheads (10 minutes’ drive along the A53) has a couple of small shops, as well as a pub and an Indian restaurant. If you want to leave the car behind, Loggerheads can be reached with a splendid 15-minute walk through the countryside. (This is just one of several paths you can take from the site through the local woodlands and farmlands. The farm shop has maps you can borrow.)

What customers say

Campsite peaceful, lovely views, big flat pitches on working farm. Owners praised as friendly, welcoming. Farm animals (piglets!) and shop big hits. Showers/toilets clean. Woodland walks brilliant. Pub/shops nearby. Bit of a grumble about general waste, but most loved it.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful views, level pitches, all the facilities you need including a fridge and freezer. Farmer was really friendly great with my son, showing him the animals and getting little piggies out for him to stroke! There was a farm shop on site selling meat eggs and bread which I didn’t use but will next time.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked This is a wonderful place with amazing and super friendly owners. The view was great, cows lovely (they didn’t smell or wake us up), piglets cute (far enough from the campsite), showers and flushable toilets available on site (as well as compostable). There is a meat, egg and staples shop on the site and we made some shopping before going home (as well brought enough for camping) and the meat quality is much better than the one from the supermarket so next time I’m not planing on bringing food with us! The only “problem” we had were super friendly cats - we loved petting them so much we were struggling to leave! 😉 defo one to return.

From the manager: Thank you both for this super review. So glad you all enjoyed your stay in the blistering heat. You did make good use of the facilities at Loggerheads and the Burnt Wood which all helped with this weekend's heat.

It was a pleasure to meet you all and we hope to see you soon. Hopefully your journey home went well.

Thank you again for this great review.
