  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

Camping pod

Liked: Lovely warm friendly welcome

Pod was cosy with kettle, toaster, fridge & mugs and outdoor seating

Good facilities

Dog friendly and picturesque walks around the area

Drive to Tattershall only minutes away with Dominoes, Coop and fish & chip shop

Would definitely stay again as it had a lovely friendly family atmosphere & is great value for money 😀

Disliked: Other visitors blasting out their music all day but to be fair didn’t disturb us at night but glad our pod wasn’t near theirs!

Didn’t have a black out curtain so the very bright flood light at the end of the site was shining in our pod all night, which made it feel like it was day time!

Other guests must’ve been stealing toilet roll as there were loads wheh we got there then none by the next day! Maybe worth investing in the industrial dispensers that public toilets have & are locked, so nobody can take the rolls? Just an idea 😊

From the manager: Hi thank you so much for your lovely review

It means a lot to the riverview team and my self

Black out curtains is a good idea I put it in our improvement list

Toilet paper !!! Is always a challaging subject

Other than having toilet paper police lol
It's always a good idea to bring your own

It something keeps us on our toes lol

As a family run park and people that come to the park for the tranquility
Load music is not tolerated

This group of people were warned about the music . But unfortunately choose to ignore my instruction

So they left me no choose but to cut there stay short and asked to leave which they did

It's very rear this happens but we are please it was felt with in the correct manor

Glad you had a fantastic time hope to see you again soon

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: We loved our stay! I visited by myself witb my 2 young girls (9&6yrs). The owners are clearly on a mission to upgrade & improve a lot about the site. I hope in soing so it doesn"t lose its intimate & personalised feel. There are good sized hard-standings around a new tarmac drive loop with staric pods in the centee. The toilet & shower block were cleaned frequently and currently being updated (didn't interfere with out stay). As a bit of a twitcher I adored hearing a cuckoo on a regular basis, spotting red kites, buzzards, kestrels & chaffinch nearby. Sadly no spotting of the visiting seal in the River Witham.
From the main touring area is a short 1 minute meander to the bar and entertainment area. The staff are helpful and friendly. The bar has a pool table and supply of board games. The bar does have food served most nights though we didnt use that. I loved sitting in the evening sun, with a good cider from the bar, watching the fighter jets & older planes looping around us whilst the kids played. We had food from the Friday burger van and my picky children saw off their whole burgers & I enjoyed my pie, chips & peas. There's also a small site shop all good prices, eg some drinks & crisps for 50p which is a refreshing change! The kids spent *hours* playing on the play park (&using their scooters down the very smooth hill entrance). Phil, site manager, was always about and helped me with electric hook up & finding a book I'd lost! Very attentive customer service that makes a difference for the good! We will be very tempted to visit again, for sure!
Ps. Toilet roll - it was rare there was none at all in the toilet blocks. As per most campsites, taking your own always advised just in case but I didn't feel it was lacking. Bonus.

Disliked: The indoor pool was extremely cold. My young girls managed 30 minutes ish of playing but came out very cold and in need of a warm up (thankfully weather helped there!) I managed waist height but had to admit defeat. It's a shame as the existence of the pool was one of the main reasons for visiting the site as my kids & I love to swim.
*HOWEVER* Phil, site manager, assures me that this is to be heated imminently & I will be monitoring this because when it happens it will certainly seal our return trips here.
The cleanliness of the pool itself was fine.

As the developments continue, new seating around the pool and outside the bar will also help to make this place even more welcoming.

From the manager: Hi angela a d your to little angels
It was a real pleasure to have you and your lovely family stay with us
Your girls loved it so much you booked an extra night

Would you beleave it sami the seal made showing the day you left ,😉

The pool
Yes is a bit chilly but is not advertised as a heated pool
How ever it is indoor with a warm air heating surround

With in the coming weeks heat pumps are on its way
As part of our upgrading

Good idea for more seating it on the list

See you guys very soon

Perhaps we get a 10/10 next time

All the best

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: We loved absolutely everything about the stay, the sight is being very well refurbished already all very good sized hard standing plinths done, freshly tatmaced drive all around the sight, toilet and shower block constantly serviced and being updated but no disruption to site users, lovely bar and entertainment very friendly staff food served some nights other nights takeaway van and small site shop all good prices. lovely walks along the river for miles, the guy that runs the site is always on hand walks around the site chatting and asking if things are ok. Will definitely be revisiting the site again with the family and will recommend to friends. Lynda phil dogs and family.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The on site facilities were varied and good; bar/pub, play park, swimming pool, shop, food van open from 6pm onwards. The layout of the site was really good and everything was within a short distance. The on site entertainment was good with bingo and a live singer. The site manager was really friendly and extremely accommodating. Everyone who visited has already booked back on for the August bank holiday later in the year.

Disliked: There wasn't any soap or toilet roll in any of the toilets, all weekend. Luckily we had some of our own but I feel this is worth mentioning if you're staying in one of the pods, bring along some toilet roll. Also only 1 of the 3 toilets in the ladies toilets have locks on the doors. This small change could make a huge improvement to the site and people's experience.

From the manager: Hi guys it was great to see you at the week end with the opening of our new upgraded touring field which as you see has a new access road to all new 18 harstanding pitches
And hard standing and parking places for the camping pod

That you for bring to our attention about lock on the door in the ladies and no hand wash
I have reported this to our amazing team to sort out asap

Re the toilet payer I think I should have build a paper factory out back
It dose not matter how many rolls we put out it was over 50 this week end and still there gone asap
Well done you bring your own I would always recommend you this

We just opened our new on site shop

Look forward to seeing you very soon

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: I was running late on the day of arrival so I rang the site and the guy said no problem ring me when you get here have a safe journey. On arrival we met phil the site manager and what a wonderful guy, he walked with us to the pitch and told us about the site etc and the local walks and if we needed anything to give him a shout as he is about somewhere. As we arrived a bit later we had burger and chips from the onsite van lovely food served and made by a great couple who also was very friendly and helpful. The campers, pod campers and the caravaners were all so friendly and chatty. We some great walks out with our dog and enjoyed the on site bar well priced and great friendly staff. I will certainly be returning as this was our 1st time there.
All in all a fantastic break we'll priced, relaxed and friendly.
I have marked WiFi as as 10 but not a clue as I try to use my phone as little as possible whilst away as I get enough of that at work and home 🤣

Disliked: Going home

Camping pod

Liked: Basic pods in a lovely location. ( fridge/ kettle & toaster useful) Friendly staff.

Disliked: Facilities- aren't so good. Only 2 showers & 3 toilets each block for all the camp. Doors don't lock, no loo roll nor paper towels, soap or hand drier. Some weird things growing on the floor in toilets.

From the manager: Hello
Thank you for your review
We take the very seriously
House keeping has been informed about the alien
But it a big mistery

The lock have all been mended in the ladies

Re how many showers
2 per block mens and ladies plus one in the disable block

We only a small family run site with 17 hard standing pitches he's and 14 camping pods

Bank holidays can be a bit challaging

Toilet paper well what can I say over 80 rolls were used over bank holiday but as soon as there put out there are gone
Might be the mistery alien lol

But please anybody going to a touring site or camping pod

It's always a good idea to bring your own stock of toilet paper

Eater bank holiday we went through 120 rolls

Hope to see you again very soon

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
