  • Family-friendly park 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Covering 56 acres including a dedicated dog area
  • Pool, play zones, clubhouse and fish and chip takeaway
There’ll be plenty of time for monkey business in this family-friendly site… Surrounded by a whopping 56 acres of countryside and a fab place for taking toddlers, Monkey Tree Holiday Park is 10 minutes from Perranporth and its huge open beach, as well as the lively surf centre of Newquay. As you might already (luckily) know, the north coast of Cornwall is tiptop for beaches – Newquay's famed for its world-class waves and heady nightlife, while Perranporth has kayaking and hovercrafting to get adventurously stuck into, and top-notch coastal walks on either side of the beach. Back at base, catch a few pages of your book while the kids splash about in the outdoor heated pool complex… or while they join in with the packed entertainment schedule for juniors (there's a talented in-house entertainment team on hand with a daily kids' club and Funky Monkey putting in a regular appearance). On top of that, a maze of net walkways, slides and ball pools means that younger guests will have plenty to keep them entertained, whatever the weather. Food's sorted with the on-site clubhouse and restaurant, and fish and chip takeaway (fish and chips + seaside = essential). Or fire up the barbecue instead: hit up the camp store for the essentials, or head to the grocery store 10 minutes away.

Liked Stayed on adjoining pitch. Great pitch in terms of space. Not great due to bins. People opening and closing bins all day.

Disliked Shocking amount of showers and toilets. 2 toilets and 3 showers in the block. Constant que out the door. Absolutely ridiculous. I also found it revolting that I then had to wash my hands in a sink someone had just cleaned their teeth in and spat in the sink.

Price of food etc in the shop overpriced daylight robbery and also the price or takeaway food. £23.00 gor two pizzas!! Shocking 😲

Liked It was alright, I've stayed on better camp sites. Started off with a tick on my inner thigh after setting up the tent which freaked me out as I've been camping loads and never had one.
Pool was good, all other activities cost money. Only thing included is swimming and the park. The size looks great though. Lots to do.

Disliked No privacy as tents are packed in.
Facilities like showers are basic and not the best.
Shop very overpriced.
Extra activites such as £4 for 5 minutes on a bouncy castle is crazy.
Absolutely nowhere to sit during childrens entertainment.
No signal on site. Only WiFi at reception.
Very overcrowded.

Liked Everything was absolutely fantastic.
The facilities, the pitch it self was in a superb location, sadly the WiFi didn't reached us,and mobile signal was so weak that we couldn't use the phones, but then again, that is what camping is all about, nature and relaxation from daily routine.
The beaches around wore so close, amazing beaches, views.
The heated swimming pool was brilliant, just amazing.

Disliked Nothing

Liked Clean pitches nice size, plenty of toilet/shower facilities (cleaned regularly).
Site itself it great for families, lovely heated swimming pool, park area entertainment each day/night, arcade. Site is close to local places too that offer lovely days out.

Disliked Traffic noise but that can't be helped.

Liked Spacious pitches, plenty of water taps near by, showering/toilet facilities were spotless. Cleaned every hour. Plenty of entertainment for families.

Disliked Not the sites fault but there was ALOT of noisy people on the site still being very noisy and inconsiderate to those who were sleeping. Also people need to watch their children closer as some kids were climbing on the roof of the play area rocking it and it was moving!

Liked The pool is amazing and the entertainment for younger children is great too. The pitches are a good size and the park was clean.

Disliked The lack of toilets is not good especially when so many people are on site at once having to queue wasn't great. Also the pool booking system is not good yesterday was the only real nice weather day and literally at 1.30 the pool was shut everyone headed to the very few showers and it was a bit of a nightmare to try and change it would be better if the pool remained open all day.

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires – or head over to Flambards in Helston (45 minutes) for flumes, rollercoasters and go karting.
