  • Families-only site on a working farm in south Northamptonshire
  • Five minutes' drive from Towcester; Milton Keynes half an hour
  • Pet-friendly, with many on-site farm walks; easy access from the A43
Woody's Family Campsite is a family-run pop-up site set on a working farm in scenic southern Northamptonshire. This rural spot is exclusively for families, is pet-friendly and makes an all-round fab base for country breaks in Central England. The site is easily accessible from the A43 and is a five-minute drive from the lovely market town of Towcester, where there's an abundance of pubs, shops and cafés. The local village, Shutlanger has an award-winning pub, barn shop and lovely park, and it's easy to stroll there along bridleways and country lanes. Stoke Bruerne is also close, with a couple of family-friendly pubs, a canal museum and a kids' open farm with lots of play equipment, This is a simple site with basic amenities like well-maintained portable toilets and running water taps, making Woody's Family Campsite an excellent spot for teaching the kids how to go on a self-sustained camping trip without all their usual electronic gadgets. Barbecues and campfires are both permitted, and you can pick up croissants in the mornings for a good start to the day (with ice creams available in the afternoon). There's an array of walks around the site that you can do as a family (and with your dog, if you've brought one), from long five-kilometre routes to shorter woodland walks. There's also a small and secure dog exercise field where four-legged friends can run around and give their tails a good wag. Fancy a photo opp? Try out the site's vintage fire engine and tractor for a fab backdrop.
