  • Pop-up campsite in a scenic location by the Lancaster Canal
  • A 15-minute drive from Lancaster; Morecambe 25 minutes
  • Suitable for paddleboards, canoes, kayaks and fishing
The best thing about the waterside location of Glasson Dock Campsite? For some guests it will be the chance to chill out and watch canal boats chugging along or see wildlife flitting about. For others it’s all about the active options – this is a spot where you can launch canoes, kayaks and paddleboards, fish or find lovely canalside walks. This fab pop-up camping field is next to the Lancaster Canal, a few metres from Glasson Marina. As well as the canal, the river Lune is close by – and it’s not far to the Lancashire coast, perhaps best appreciated 25 minutes’ drive away at Morecambe Bay. The compact city of Lancaster (15 minutes) is close at hand too and has plenty of supermarkets, shops and places for dinner out. This simple site is equipped with functional portable toilets and cold outdoor showers and is a five-minute stroll from the various cafés and eateries of Glasson Dock, which is the starting point for a number of footpaths and bike trails. The campsite is a laidback place where dogs, barbecues and campfires are all allowed and you’ll have space for an awning or gazebo if you like. Travelling without a car? Glasson Dock Campsite is a few minutes' walk from a bus stop, where you can catch regular services to Lancaster and beyond.

What customers say

Chill spot by the canal, great location near Glasson Dock. Owner's a legend! Spacious site, good for water sports. Basic but clean facilities, though showers can be chilly and loos a bit cosy. Mind the occasional noisy neighbour.

Liked Great location. Tucked away nicely from the main road. Owner came over for a chat which was a nice touch.

Disliked Toilet facilities could do with upgrading from those built for Warwick Davis!

Site could do with some rules regarding quiet times! Kids running around screaming at 10:30pm round our pitch and twice tripping over our electric hook up ripping it out of the box!

Liked Me and my family absolutely love this place. We go every year and are already excited to book in and go again next year. The area is beautiful, the people are lovely and we have met so many lovely people over the years during our camping there. I recommend it to everyone who mentions camping. It's lovely and quiet making it super friendly for SEN families like ours.

Disliked My only dislike that is that it isnt open past september. I would love to book in the October half term and spend a few nights under the stars with my children over the autumn nights would be magical.
