Positiv Exactly what we were looking for. Friends and I wanted a night between 2 days exhibiting at Wiltshire Country fair, away from the packed environment there. The owner was beyond helpful with directions and assistance. Lovely well kept compost loo, kettle available, no showers but I knew that in advance. Sensibly priced for a basic night's stay with the dogs.

Negativ The railings to enter the field weren't ideal, and if on my own 3 gates/rails to go through would discourage me from setting up then going off to walk dogs or find a shop for example - no issue at all once known as would just walk on the way to site. There was a barking dog right behind tent but it settled well before bedtime. I would certainly stay again in similar circumstances.

Positiv Nothing

Negativ It's a yard. That's it. I was expecting gravel pitches, as described, ie a gravel pitch with grass to put an awning or similar on. The owner is trying to make money for nothing - I'm used to paying this price for loos and showers, so trying to tell me it's why the price is low was a load of rubbish. I didn't stay, the yapping dog had already become annoying in the few minutes I was there - no way could I stay with that next to me. I use a wide variety of campsites and pitches all across the UK - this isn't either of those and I'd stay well clear. I also won't forget to check reviews in future.

Positiv The ground held up really well considering the weather - plenty of spots to choose from, and able to tuck ourselves in setting up in a storm. Great central location for walks.

Negativ If you're going to have Duke of Edinburgh kids, they must have their own toilet and shower facilities - I've stayed on many sites that do things that way, never an issue. The cleanliness of the facilities was ok on Wednesday and Thursday, though shower trays didn't drain. Friday and Saturday they were a s**t hole. All toilets blocked, filth and mud everywhere, then someone taking their dogs in?! I'm now home with Covid, and think that a whole learn of unsupervised, unhygienic children could have a lot to do with it.....

Positiv Absolutely spot on for what I wanted. 1 night between 2 days of agility competitions, peaceful, quiet, perfect place to get a good night's sleep and allow my dog and I to chill out. Walking distance to a launch for paddle boarding on the river Parrett, or a short drive to a launch ramp. Facilities were ideal, though wouldn't be enough if full.

Negativ Slightly larger signage would be much appreciated, but owner was very helpful on the phone to get me there!

Positiv What a lovely site, just my sort of place! Plenty of room, stunning views, clean facilities, friendly and well priced.

Negativ Just to bare in mind, you're pitched a little way from the loos and showers in the barn - I have a small loo in the tent, so no issue 🙂

Negativ Loud music!! Booked a normal night stay, with no events on, hadn't expected live music until 4am, I just wanted to sleep! Compost loos were well designed, just not enough of them for quantity of people so smelt. Dogs need to be kept near their own area, not necessarily on lead but not pestering when trying to feed your own dog.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Live music till 4am?!? Horse Apples love! Live music goes off at 11.45pm amd the bars close at 2am! The weekends are lively.. we state that. Week days are chilled .. If you don't want to get involved with the party then weekends are not the best choice.

Positiv Friendly owners, clean loos. Nice outlook.

Negativ I booked a calm, peaceful site - it's next to a busy road, and the pitches are pretty close together. Pub closes very early, shop didn't open whilst I was there. There should have been a discount whilst new showers are being built, but even with those and if they provided an on side dog exercise area it's still far too expensive. Twice the price or more of anywhere else I'm staying this year, nowhere near worth it.

Positiv Plenty of space around us, stream to keep the dog cool, shade around the tent, helpful owner, clean loos and showers 🙂

Negativ Could be a bit noisy for me when very busy, or lots of children around.
