Positiv The location was incredible. The staff were very good and helpful. The site was well maintained and tidy. Everybody we met from the area were very helpful and friendly.

Negativ My only criticism was the dog walking area. I don't have big dogs but they were cramped in such a small area. Although there was a poo bin there were still lazy people who couldn't be bothered to use it. The poo bin was small and often overflowing. I know it says dog friendly but outside of the small compound all dogs were meant to be kept on leads (though several people ignored that).
Some dog owners however did let there dogs loose to fowl all over the place.
I don't think this site is very dog friendly.

Positiv The location on the banks of lake Bala. The staff were lovely & very helpful. The pitch was in excellent condition. The toilet/shower blocks were spotless & plentiful. Extra touches such as a microwave. Loved it

Negativ Not for me personally, but I saw people with limited mobility struggling to get to the toilets and showers due to the steep hill.
I also thought the lovely play park would be better inside the gates so children could use it without adults needing to chaperone them

Negativ As soon as I arrived, I was escorted to my pitch by a very polite woman. She explained the campsite rules and informed me that they could not accommodate requests for specific pitches because they have a policy of assigning them in order of arrival.

After I parked, two other families arrived, and we were all parked in sequence. When my friend arrived, I waited for him to be assigned the next available pitch in line. However, the staff member who escorted him (apparently the owner’s son) placed him as far away from us as possible, completely ignoring the arrival order. When I politely asked why, he responded very rudely in front of my family and my friend’s family.

Because of this experience, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this campsite to anyone.

Other issues we noticed:

* Dogs were allowed to roam freely without any control (our neighbor had two Rottweilers).
* The showers could only be used during specific hours. Why?
* The large garbage bins were located far away from the pitches.
* There was not enough lighting around the campsite at night.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Regarding your pitch allocation, we always do our best to accommodate guests where possible. However, when parties arrive at different times, it can be very difficult to keep them together, particularly on our grass touring area, as pitches are allocated according to availability and operational requirements at the time of arrival. The families you referred to arrived together, which is why they were able to be pitched together.

We would also like to clarify that dogs are not permitted to roam freely around the caravan park. This is clearly explained during check-in, displayed on signs throughout the park, and supported by our designated off-lead exercise area near the entrance. If you witnessed dogs off their leads elsewhere, this was unfortunately due to irresponsible owners not following our site rules. Dogs are permitted to swim in the lake but should be placed back on their leads once they leave the water.

Our shower facilities are never fully closed during the day. One side is cleaned regularly while the other remains open, ensuring guests always have access to shower facilities while maintaining high cleanliness standards.

The bin compound is centrally located within the caravan park to provide convenient access for all guests. As for the lighting, the park is well lit for safety, although some lights are dimmed to night mode late in the evening to reduce light pollution while still maintaining visibility.

We appreciate all feedback, but we also feel it is important to clarify these points for future guests.

If the noise was causing an issue, we would have appreciated the opportunity to resolve it while you were here. We have a warden on site who patrols the park, and guests can contact us at any time. Had you reported the disturbance, we would have been happy to investigate and take appropriate action.

The weekend you stayed was exceptionally busy due to the lovely weather, and while we do our best to ensure everyone respects our quiet time from 10:30 pm onwards, we can only address issues that are brought to our attention at the time.

Negativ The pitch was ok but ended up with somone at side of us who were extremely noisy late at night and there were people sleeping in cars and think pitch are really close together, lady was helpful but she seemed stressed all the time but nice enough. I had guessed pay to come and see us twice in 5 days but never outstayed there welcome they had a cottage up the road I wanted them to come to us and not go up to the top end of lake ( I understand that there are restrictions and people do take advantage) but we felt like we were the ones that had been in the wrong 😑 as of what happened with other people ( we are all not the same and it’s a shame that happened) it would be nice to have hired boards and boats.

We always encourage guests to report any excessive noise or disturbance to us at the time, for us to do our best to resolve the issue immediately. Unfortunately, if we aren’t made aware of a problem during your stay, we don’t have the opportunity to put it right.
In relation to paddle boards and boats, most of our guests bring their own equipment to enjoy the lake, which is why we don’t currently offer a hire service. We do appreciate the suggestion, however, and will take it on board for the future.
