Y Giler Arms

Positiv So very peaceful in fact we had the place to ourselves briefly, with beautiful views of the mountains & countryside. The Y Giler Arms on site was welcoming & we ate there both nights & the food was lovely & reasonably priced & the service was friendly. Toilets were largely wet rooms which were clean with nice hot water & actually had somewhere to sit to put your shoes on which was lacking in our previous camp.

Negativ The older 2nd toilets were a bit musty smelling.
Can imagine when busy though there's not much room between pitches.
Nothing really to do as no walks nearby

Positiv The scenery was outstanding. The pitches were great, not too big a site,, felt relaxed. The food in the pub was lovely. Will definitely visit again.

Positiv Great rural site and a good base to explore north Wales. Lovely views of Snowdonia. Facilities could probably do with updating but adequate. Toilets, showered and washing up available along with electric hook up. At rear of pub that does a fine selection of popular drinks and a great menu for food, dogs allowed in certain areas. Breakfast is amazing and has to be ordered the night before. I would definitely return in the future and would recommend as a touring base

Positiv Very laid back campsite. There are rules but generally rules you would expect at any site, raised fires, low noise etc. It’s only a small site so not too busy. Decent shower / toilet and dish washing facilities.

Negativ My only gripe was not being able to bring cars into the field to unload (worse as it was 30 degrees and we were unprepared) although it says you can’t park by your tent, it was not clear (to me anyway) that you could not at least unpack and then move the car….. probably wouldn’t be too bad in cooler temps but not ideal if raining!

Positiv Friendly staff, good pub and facilities were nice and clean

Negativ It was extremely busy and felt very on top of everyone. Lack of proper instruction or demarcation to state the section which is yours would have helped as after my van I had around 1.5m space before 10 people descended on me and started cooking

Friendly and helpful staff.
Lots to do in the area.

Negativ Lack of pitch numbers caused some confusion.
Bathrooms got quite grubby at times, needed more frequent cleaning over the bank holiday.
