Expensive for the site facilities
Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Main Field ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Attentive host
Negativ Only three toilets and two showers. Not enough for the quantity of people on site. Many pitches had several families and they did not follow the 9:30 quiet time.
No hand washing facilities in the toilets

A nice family friendly campsite in gorgeous location.
Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Wood Field ohne Stromanschluss (nur für Gruppen)
Positiv Location was great. Friendly staff. Good grass pitches. Allowed to have camp fires.
Negativ Pitches too close to one another.
Price of wood for the amount you get is astronomical
Staff didn't stick to times they said for selling wood, we nearly missed them.

Vom Platzbetreiber: We sell HARDWOOD because SOFTWOOD spits and we would have to stop firepits because of the fire risks.
£8 for a basket of logs (that’ll burn for 4 hours), use of a fire pit, kindling and fire lighters delivered to your pitch is very reasonable.
When you visit the Yorkshire Dales, you need to consider the culture you’re visiting. We’ll work hard to make your stay enjoyable, but if you arrive with consumerist demands you’ll be disappointed. We are on site at 1800hrs every night to sell wood and see if we can help with anything. If it takes a few more minutes to get to you, just chill out and enjoy the view.
Sincerely
Brian

Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Main Field ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Stunning location, but only a short walk to Sedburgh. Simple but spotless toilets / showers. Owners v friendly, came around with logs for sale every night and collected rubbish in the morning. Quiet in the evening in spite of it being full and lots of children. Looks like there are improvements being made possibly to washing up area ??
Would highly recommend, don’t hesitate to book
Negativ Nowhere to wash your hands after visiting the toilet apart from the dishwashing sink !! Maybe this is what the construction is addressing

Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Wood Field ohne Stromanschluss (nur für Gruppen)
Positiv Lovely relaxed site with great views of the hills.
Good sized pitches with fire pits.
Friendly and helpful owners.
The cute goats and pigs were a bonus.
Negativ The site would benefit from a couple of hand washing basins, and mirrors.

Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Main Field ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Access to local town and lots of walking routes. kept very clean, nice and spacious pitches with fire pit area. Welcomed into the site by the owners with firewood and information.
Negativ Bathroom facilities. All the facilities were very well kept, clean, stocked up with loo roll. My only gripe is there wasn't really enough for the amount of people this time of the year. It's summer holidays so it's to be expected.

Lovely location, would stay here again despite the minor issues
Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Wood Field ohne Stromanschluss (nur für Gruppen)
Positiv Plenty of space for the pitch with parking, no issues with noise at night with the curfew. Great location, village is lovely and easy to walk to! Plenty of hiking trails nearby suitable for kids too
Owners came around each evening with firewood and again in the morning to collect rubbish
Kids absolutely loved the animals onsite and made sure to see them and say hello to and from the tent
Negativ Washing up facilities only have one sink which when used turns the water in the showers freezing cold if being used, there is a sign up but unfortunately people didn’t seem to pay attention to it which made showering two young children rather difficult.
Had an issue with a couple that felt it was appropriate to shower together on a family campsite, nothing owners could have done about it if they were around but it might benefit from signs to advise adults shouldn’t be sharing showers
Wasn’t able to use the firewood available to purchase as the campfires set up are only on the main field and not the wood field, has I have known we would have brought a campfire with us

Vom Platzbetreiber: We come around at 1800 & 2000 every night with fire pits and fire wood. We ask every pitch. I suspect you’ve not been on site at those times.
Regarding showers. Living in and visiting rural areas brings the limitations of infrastructure and what planning permission will allow. We have re-engineered the header tank for the showers and sink which work fine when all are on at the same time, but the overall mains water pressure is limited and when a number of taps are run on site at the same time, the mains pressure drops - that’s outside our control.
In August it’s difficult for us. We literally have campers begging to camp, but we need a compromise and campers to be more flexible and not descend en-masse on facilities for the same rush hour.
We can’t get planning permission for more facilities and in many ways we agree we don’t want to become a £40 a night holiday park. We are an affordable family campsite and to maintain that, we need campers to compromise and be flexible too at peak times.
Sincerely
Brian
A really relaxed arrival process –…
Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Main Field ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv A really relaxed arrival process – there's no need to check in at reception. You simply choose your numbered pitch, which is marked out by long grass, and the owners come around on their quad bike to check you in.
Every pitch has its own brick fire pit, which creates a lovely atmosphere in the evenings.
The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
Toilets and showers are housed in a rustic barn-style building. They were clean, stocked with toilet roll and suited the farm campsite perfectly.
Firewood, kindling and firelighters can be bought on site for £8, which was really convenient.
Instead of lots of bins around the site, the owners come around to collect your rubbish bags, which keeps the campsite looking tidy.
We loved being surrounded by the farm animals. There were cows, sheep, horses and goats, and the goats were tethered so children could feed them leaves and say hello. There were also signs directing you to the pigs.
The views across the Yorkshire Fells are beautiful, making it a lovely place to relax.
It's only a short walk into Sedbergh town and even closer to the river, so you can easily explore without driving.
The campsite has separate fields for families and larger groups. The family field has a quiet time from 9:30pm, while groups camp elsewhere, meaning we couldn't hear them at all.
Negativ While most campers respected the 9:30pm quiet time, there were occasionally people still playing music after 10pm. This wasn't challenged, which was a little disappointing.
There's only one pot-washing sink, which often had queues. The site warns that using it can make the showers run cold, although we never experienced this because people were considerate. We ended up washing dishes with cold water at our tent instead.
The drinking water tap was close to our pitch, but it was located directly behind another family's pitch, which felt a little intrusive when filling water containers.
Scooters and balance bikes are available to borrow, which is a lovely touch, but there isn't really enough space to use them. An additional field or a small hard-standing play area for scooters and ball games would make a big difference.

Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Main Field ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv We stay here 3 times a year with my 3 teenage boys, this camp site for the price is value for money, it’s well run caters for all your need, you have a Spar shop walking distance, surrounded by stunning scenery and farm animals, 1 of the lakes missing treasures 🙏🏻
Negativ People moaning about the water in the shower going cold 🤦🏼♂️ if you want a warm shower for longer than 5 mins book a Premiere Inn, and why would you need more than 1 sink to do the dishes 🤷🏼♂️
