Negativ Very basically facility’s and toilets were dirty portaloo’s with a few of them out of paper.
A very hilly site with not a lot of choice for a flat area with a view.
Road next to the site was very busy even late into the evening.

Positiv • greeted on arrival and the couple were helpful giving directions & bus timetable
• not too busy, plenty of space to pitch up
• so close to the lake, great location
• short walk to shop / bus stop
• can park next to tent
• toilets were kept fairly clean
• solo female and felt very safe

Negativ • ground was so hard couldn’t get the pegs in

Positiv On first impressions of the campsite was exactly as expected a field with a great location

Negativ When we returned to the site in the evening the smoke from all the fire pits hurt my eyes, kids were throwing big logs they’d found in the woods on to the fire whilst big groups sat round drinking and the noise from loud music swearing screaming , when it eventually went quiet at around 3am the fires were still burning ! I have been camping for over 40 years and have never been on such a noisy site with disrespectful people . I was under the impression that big groups were not permitted this is not the case. We stayed for 2 nights and it was the same both nights .

Positiv ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Absolutely Outstanding Campsite – The Best Camping Experience at Ullswater!**

Waterfoot Park Campsite is everything camping should be. If you're looking for *real* camping with an unbeatable lakeside location, this is it.

You're literally only around **40 metres from the shores of Ullswater**, making it perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming or simply relaxing by the water. Being able to wake up and walk straight down to the lake is something really special, and there's plenty of space to enjoy the water without feeling crowded.

The campsite itself is immaculate. The grounds are beautifully maintained, pitches are spacious, and everything is incredibly clean and well looked after. There are plenty of fresh water points and portable toilets around the site, all kept to a very high standard.

One thing that really stands out is the owners. They genuinely care about their guests and go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great stay. It's rare to find a campsite where you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive.

Being able to enjoy a BBQ in the evenings while surrounded by stunning scenery makes the whole experience even better. Whether you're camping with family, friends or on a solo adventure, this site has everything you need.

The location couldn't be better either—you're right in the heart of everything Ullswater has to offer, with beautiful walks, water activities and breathtaking views all on your doorstep.

I honestly couldn't recommend Waterfoot Park Campsite any more highly. This is one of the finest campsites I've stayed at, and I'll definitely be returning. If you love proper outdoor adventures and want the perfect base for exploring Ullswater, you won't find better.

Positiv Gorgeous views of the lake and hills, large space to choose where to pitch. Sheep fields surround you, feels very tucked away. Super close to the shops and pubs, easy to head there in the day or night.

Negativ Some of the fields are on a slope so made cooking hard, keeping everything still. Felt a little funny sleeping on an incline. Need more porter loos or clean more often & some more sinks to wash/ clean up in

Positiv Location is perfect, with only a short walk to Pooley Bridge.

We love how basic the campsite is. Nothing but grass….. a couple of portaloos and a few bins.

Negativ The site has a road on two sides with moderate car traffic passing by at all hours.

The campsite is on a slope….
