Waterfoot Carpark Campsite

Mi è piaciuto Location is perfect, 5 minute walk to pooley bridge and across the road to ullawater

Clean large site, can pitch anywhere you like, no marked pitches

Non mi è piaciuto Toilets, day 1 they were clean but by the next morning they didn’t smell great, as expected with portaloos, fine for one night though

Mi è piaciuto Been to this site a few times now and got another stay booked on Aug bank holiday,I love this site so much,it’s literally a stones throw away from the lake and 5 mins walk from the local village and surrounded by beauty

Mi è piaciuto Very close to the lake , ideal if you plan on paddle boarding. Just a short walk to town . There's a few fields to choose from . There's a few toilets on site and water taps. You can have a bbq if you like. The views are amazing. Staff are really friendly. We will definitely be back thank you.

Mi è piaciuto First time camping as a family unit and we loved it. There was nothing on site but mains water, portaloos and rubbish bins but that was what we wanted. We wanted to be together as a family having a laugh and fun times rather than kids off doing their own thing without us because one of them is coming to the stage in life where she will inevitably push us away for a while, so we want to connect as much as possible until then. Phone signal was patchy which also was great for us but obviously not ideal for everyone

The site had other campers when we arrived but nowhere near full with plenty of spaces between tents so it felt nice and spacious, you just choose your space and set up. Our youngest is rather noisy sometimes so we set up towards the top of the field to give everyone else a little peace, it is a sloped field so it meant trying to get all the equipment balanced correctly but the bottom field is much flatter and it's not that extreme a slope.

We ventured into Pooley Bridge which is very pleasant and has a few touristy shops and some eateries as well as access to the river which was appreciated in the heatwave lots of children splashed about on the river but don't do what we did and forget the crocs the rivers and lakes are very rocky.

Ullswater is literally metres from site on the other side of the road and whilst it's a fast moving road it isn't that busy that crossing it is a challenge

Mi è piaciuto we were first time campers and it was lovely, we went through the week so there was only about 3 tents on our field, it’s a couple of minutes walk to get to the lake and about 10 mins to the village.

Non mi è piaciuto no showers but the lake is 2 minutes walk.

Mi è piaciuto Location was perfect. Facilities were simple but you had everything you needed. Very clean.

Hard tent pegs a life line.
porto loos are what they following a very busy weekend are emptied Monday and clean again. Walk to the lake with Paddle Board 5 mins which is perfect. Lady very kind and helpful. A relaxed campsite we will return Thank You

Mi è piaciuto The views from the pitch was really nice, we was walking distance to the village and the lake which was lovely.

Non mi è piaciuto It was our first time camping so wasn’t keen on the portaloos so that did put us of a little bit
