Unternehmensinfo hinzufügenHigh Yewdale Camping really is wild camping, with just a handful of pitches in a Lake District valley field. Surrounded by exceptional views of the Cumbrian fells, this peaceful site welcomes adventurous families looking for a back-to-basics camping experience.
There’s easy access to the site from the A593 (note, down a farm track), and plenty of parking away from the camping field. Kids and dogs can run around freely and safely, or splash in the river that runs alongside the field.
Mini-breaks here put you in the heart of walking country, so you can take a gentle family stroll right from the campsite or choose more challenging routes up Wetherlam or Dow Crag. Coniston Water (there’s sailing on the lake too) and the Old Man of Coniston are both less than 15 minutes’ drive from the campsite, and the long-distance Cumbria Way, which starts in Coniston, can be accessed close to the field.
There are local pubs and shops in the village, so you can source supplies for your barbecue here or head to Ambleside (15 minutes' drive) for a bigger selection of stores. If you fancy exploring the Lakes by car, there are plenty of Beatrix Potter- and William Wordsworth-themed attractions to fill up your days.
