Skelwith Fold Caravan Park

Positiv Everything. Impeccable cleanliness throughout (facilities and general site), beautiful setting (woodland walks, a lake, nature hide for birdwatching, surrounded by natural beauty), very helpful and friendly staff (in the shop/reception but also driving about the site and willing to stop and help with practically anything!), fantastic walks, lots of space. Kids loved the various parks/adventure spaces even though it was raining! Shop was inviting and reasonably priced, very helpful map provided, plenty of water points and bins.
Washing up area is pristine, as is chemical disposal point! Toilets & showers are warm and spotless.
We could choose our own pitch- we probably should have fully driven about first but we were racing against the sunset!
Lovely and quiet, lots of wildlife, will 100% visit again but for longer.
It felt like a private, luxury holiday, despite being a ‘camping’ break.

Negativ Due to gravel/hard standing (which was very slightly slanted if being picky), there wasn’t anywhere to put an anchor ‘spike’ for the dog, who when tied to the railings went for an explore and got badly caught up in the brambles. No injuries, but almost had to call the warden to help due to sheer drop the other side!
There are no near toilet facilities if based close to the kids activity areas. We did choose this area in spite of that, but it was a little far for the kids to go without an adult.
WiFi was awful, but likely due to being such a large and remote site- 5G was alright in the right spots.

We’ve just returned from the most incredible stay at Skelwith Fold, and I genuinely can’t praise it highly enough. From the moment we arrived with our touring caravan, we were blown away by the immaculate grounds and the pristine presentation of the entire site. Every inch of this place is clearly cared for with passion and attention to detail – not a blade of grass out of place!
It’s rare to find a caravan site where absolutely no expense has been spared, but Skelwith Fold is just that. From the beautifully maintained pitches to the spotless facilities, everything here has been designed with comfort, luxury, and relaxation in mind. The landscaping is stunning – it honestly feels more like a luxury resort than a caravan park.
What really stood out was the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings. Tucked away in the heart of the Lake District, the setting is breathtaking – a true escape from the hustle and bustle. Yet despite being secluded, everything you need is right there. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile.
Whether you’re staying for a weekend or planning a longer break, this site is a hidden gem and an absolute credit to its owners. We’ve stayed at many touring sites over the years, but Skelwith Fold truly stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Positiv Beautiful secure site, set in woodland. Great pitch size, brilliant park / play area. Good shop & surprisingly decent prices!
Very helpful staff.

Extra bonus we had gourmet burger van & pizza on site in the evenings.

Toilet shower facilities are the best I've experienced. Underfloor heating in the showers!

Perfect central location to explore the lakes.

Even a cute library on site!!

Highly recommended and will absolutely return.

Positiv Lovely location set within acres of woodland with an abundance of wildlife. Facilities were kept clean and tidy throughout the stay. Kids enjoyed the play area and loved the nature trail around the site. Even spotted a red deer.

Positiv Nach einem sehr netten Empfang und einer kurzen, aber genauen Einweisung konnten wir für unser Wohnmobil einen geeigneten Stellplatz aussuchen. Dieser war fast eben und ein einziger Keil genügte, um das Wohnmobil auszurichten.
In unmittelbarer Nähe konnten wir Frischwasser auffüllen und auch das Waschhaus war in der Nähe. Alles war sehr sauber, die Duschen großzügig und die WC´s ebenso.
Der Park war sehr ruhig, wir konnten ein Reh und einen Dachs beobachten.
Jederzeit gerne wieder!
