Sand-le-Mere Caravan and Leisure Park

Positiv First time visiting and the signposts showed us where we needed to be, we hadn’t checked in straight away but the lady at reception rang to say to just come the following day, I felt this was a nice touch. The pitch was clean (apart from a few cigarette butts) the pitches are spacious enough (we didnt put our awning up, but many others did) About a 7 minute walk down to the beach and a 4 minute walk to the swimming and entertainment complex, we didn’t go to the entertainment but the park was lovely and clean and the lady in the shop was really helpful and kind.

Negativ We struggled (as did many others) to find the toilet block on arrival, once found. We didn’t find the unisex block until the second day. This was much more pleasant for my daughter who is scared of spiders as the ladies had a lot of spiders, we came to understand from the welcome pack that spiders and insects were an issue on the site, they did give some tips on how to manage the insects for example the site emptying the big waste bins. By Monday these bins still hadn’t been emptied and were overflowing (it was a bank holiday so maybe that was the issue)
Not the sites fault but we went to the beach on an evening and it was littered with alcohol bottles and rubbish which was sad to see. Again not the sites problem but there was a strong smell of cannabis frequently on the site. I’m not sure if they have a cut of time for music etc but the music from the entertainment complex was loud and heard from the touring pitches until around 11:30pm

Positiv Good sized hardstanding pitch. Entertainment facilities were ok.

Negativ The main downside was the shower facilities during our stay. From arrival Monday until Thursday, the main shower block only provided cold water. This was reported to reception on Tuesday morning. We also tried the pool shower facilities, which had signage up and were experiencing similar issues.

By Wednesday late afternoon the problem was still ongoing, so it had to be reported again on Thursday. We were informed maintenance had attended earlier in the week and changed a gas bottle, but the issue had been assumed resolved. After the second report the showers were finally working properly, allowing hot showers on Thursday evening leaving only 1 day with decent shower.

Appreciate that faults can happen but more should have done sooner, as shower facilities were included as part of the booking, it did impact the majority of our stay. When complaint given to site via email management were dismissive.

Positiv Nice and quiet

Never stay at ...park holiday...again unless there make it dog friendly because we couldn't do anything

Negativ Not dog friendly as thay say .....
Can't go in pub with dog
Can't go in restaurant with dog
Can't go in shop with dog
So we couldn't eat or drink out as we planed we could of sat outside in cold
Couldn't get on wifi for free as thay sed it charges u ..

Positiv Close to the seaside

Negativ Twice we used shower and twice we only had cold water. Toilet and shower block wasn’t clean regularly and not well maintained, lights not repaired missing toilet rolls, some door locking are damaged. Half of the lights on the site does not work

Positiv The site was clean very clean

Negativ Beach was a mess bottles metal bars sticking out of the sand tubs and just a joke to be honest.

Had a tap on the sink next to the caravan was making noise all the time reported it but was never done so had no sleep for 3 nights.

Pitches was way out of level to one side.

Food very expensive.

Will not be going back there even if it was free.

Positiv Great facilities, very clean, great food and bar. Everything you need in one place.

Negativ Bathrooms facilities around touring pitches never had any toilet roll throughout my stay, so bring a roll for the walk to be safe.

Positiv The Hardstanding Pitch: A total game-changer. It was level, clean, and kept the van (and our shoes) mud-free, which made setup and pack-down incredibly easy.
Prime Coastal Location: Being just a stone's throw from the beach is the biggest draw. Perfect for morning walks and catching the sea breeze.
Clean Facilities: The touring block was well-kept. Having hot, reliable showers and tidy toilet facilities makes the campervan life feel a bit more luxurious.
Easy Access: The park layout is easy to navigate, and the hook-ups were positioned perfectly for a standard campervan setup.
Friendly Vibe: The staff were welcoming, and there’s a nice community feel among the other tourers and motorhome owners.

Negativ Ground Hardness: While the hardstanding is great for the van, it can be tough on standard awning pegs. Make sure you pack some heavy-duty rock pegs if you're setting up a side-room.
​Distance to Hub: Depending on which area of the touring field you're in, it can be a bit of a trek to the main entertainment hub and shop—fine for a stroll, but something to note if it’s raining!
​Coastal Exposure: Because you’re right by the sea, it can get quite breezy. If you have a pop-top or a light awning, just keep an eye on the wind speeds!
