Panpwnton Farm

Positiv Booked only an hour before turning up. I think other people had too as the owner told us she re-opened a closed field for the weekend. Beautiful views and the field was over a pretty stream bridge. There is a small railway running by the field with just 2 carriages and not too noisy. The field had a compost toilet in. The main toilets and showers were at the entrance which were spotlessly clean, the showers were really good and hot, there were also a fridge/freezer, wash up facilities and fresh eggs on sale. There is a small cafe van which looked good but we didn’t use. The owner came around in the night and chatted and offered more wood for fire pits. There is a river walk into town but we had been walking all day so didn’t do it. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Negativ There was quite a lot of sheep poo in the field we stayed in and it got on our shoes and rug but I’m thinking this is because they had closed the field and just re-opened for the weekend.

Positiv Lovely, peaceful site with first-rate facilities. We only camped here for one night, but would absolutely return (especially if walking Offa's Dyke Path). The 10-minute walk to Knighton is very convenient, and we even spotted a kingfisher on the river! Would highly recommend. Thank you!

Positiv Great location, good facilities if you need them. The host was lovely and checked that everything was ok in the mornings. Will be going again.

Positiv We’ve stayed here before and it’s always so clean and the setting is fantastic, just off the offa trail and close to Knighton which has a few pubs and shops.
The river Teme runs through the grounds which really sets the tone for a restful break.

Positiv Great space between pitches, right by the water, peaceful, very pretty area. No light pollution so great for star gazing.
We could see the owners were installing new toilets in the far field and improving areas of the farm.

Negativ A walk to get to the toilet/shower from where we set up camp & could do with more toilets, especially female only.
Although it didn’t bother us, the noise of the train passing by the campsite could be bothersome to some.

Positiv You get to choose where to pitch your tent and plenty of room. Nice flat pitches.
Location of site was great for accessing hiking routes and walking along the river into town. Lovely scenery all around.
Access to kettle, microwave and freezer was very useful and we used all of these.
The on-site cafe was a real bonus, very friendly and allowed us a well deserved treat after our walks!
