Positiv Absolutely stunning! Pictures don't do it justice. Area is gorgeous, close enough to Skegness for the beach and days out. Clean and well stocked with everything you need. Very friendly on arrival, very much left to do as you please, come and go, just call when needed. Ducks, birds and loads of fish! Lovely shower aswell, adjustable temperature and pressure.

Negativ The ONLY thing that let it down was the sofa bed, rock hard where it folds that no amount of blankets could fix. But okay for short stays. Maybe bring an air mattress

Positiv Quirky little pod, with mini kitchen and bed, plus couch that can an extra bed if needed. Shower and toilet right outside pod. Very clean facilities. Sits on 3 lakes that can be fished with a licence. Secure entry to park with key pad that Rachel lets you know before arrival. Would happily return

Positiv Lovely clean site and very well laid out. The fishing is absolutely unbelievable just outside the hive with very big carp etc. That were obviously very well looked after. Our daugter and son inlaw turned up for a couple of days which we were expecting and unexpectantly had our grandson with them which put us up to 5 and a dog instead of 4. Rachel was very understanding and let it go. My wife has a medical condition and she found the hive wooden chairs very uncomfortabe so I let her use my more comfortable and well padded and nearly new fishing chair to use in the hive for comfort and I used the wooden chair to fish while she was using my fishing chair which Rachel pointed out wasnt made for fishing so I quickly changed back which made my wife uncomfortable while sat on it (abet I must say that Rachel didnt know about my wifes medical condition at the time)

Negativ We were in the Hive and it only has one room and a toilet not two rooms but it has a 2 ringed electric hob which we didnt know about which is a big plus. The Hive is very clean and well looked after and has everything you need Television,hob,microwave,fridge etc. but a BIG downside to the hive is the pull down slightly smaller than normal double bed which is extremely uncomfortable to sleep on .Theres hardly any padding on it and you are basicallly sleeping on wooden slats. Ive seen in past reviews that people have complained about this double bed being uncomfortable and its been said that its been changed which obviously it hasnt. If you check my other reviews youll notice that ive never left anything negative on any of the reviews ive left before. Ive been camping and fishing with my dog for absolutely years and ive slept in some very remote areas for the fishing and ive slept in small tents on the floor with the dog so im use to discomfort but never like that night on that pull out bed (and im not one for complaining about it) One night on it was enough as my wife and I sat up having a drink oof tea from 03.30 onwards. Id just like to finish with I would definately go back and enjoy the site and the fishing and I would definately reccomend it to friends but dont use the hive unless that bed has been changed because it will spoil your holiday I didnt mention the bed to Rachel because I knew we were person one over and would she really have been able to move 5 people to different accomodation but the bed needs changing.

I’m sorry that ‘The Hive’ did not meet your personal requirements. The Hive is as advertised a one room accommodation with toilet designed for short breaks. The overall size of the pod is 14 sq m. There is however other accommodation on site which offers more extensive facilities for those with medical needs.
I can confirm the sofa bed was bought brand new at the start of this season, as you can imagine in such a small contained area finding a sofa bed suitable is rather tricky. This accommodation is only suitable for 4. To have 5 adults and a German Shepherd was unacceptable for this accommodation, there was no wonder your stay was uncomfortable.

Positiv Absolutely FANTASTIC!! Would highly recommend Rachael the owner was absolutely lovely she put up some happy birthday banners for us . Great location plenty of fish to be caught was such a lovely weekend will be returning

Positiv Lovely campsite, clean facilities and friendly staff. Only 30 minutes from Skegness which was perfect for our trip. We had a lovely time!
