Positiv What a great place to stay! Cleanliness was great and so were the shower and toilet facilities. The cabin was spacious and the lights are a nice touch. If you come here make sure to make use of the 10% off food at the bulls head.

Positiv Well kept, great central location for Peak District exploration, friendly helpful staff/owners….decent facilities.

Negativ Male toilets were very small and inadequately ventilated…..(after anybody had been for a no2)….could do with a urinal….had to wait several times. WIFI was almost useless.

Positiv Spotless facilities, bonus that there was a fridge and freezer too, we didn't realise this until we arrived. The washing up area, toilets and showers were well maintained and spacious and nicely concealed, despite being very close to our pitch, which was useful with young children. Aaron was a friendly and helpful warden and we enjoyed the fresh eggs from the hens. There was plenty of space on our pitch and a useful picnic table outside and sofa inside. The pitches were all very spread out so we didn't feel like we were being overlooked and my children could play without disturbing other campers. We loved having the option of a cosy wood burner in our bell tent, though we chose to hire the firepit instead to toast marshmallows, and there was plenty of wood to buy to cover two nights. The site was really organised and felt secure, with keypad entry. We appreciated the location too, being close to places of interest; we visited Eyam and Monsal Trail, Cressbrook Dale and Chee Dale Stepping Stones - all worth a visit, especially for an early sunrise view and walk before it gets busy. There is a discount at the local pub too, which is definitely worth a visit for delicious food!

Negativ Would have been even better if camp beds were provided as well, though we were able to bring our own, so it didn't cause us any problems.

Positiv Campsite was lovely, in a very remote area with a nice little village pub about a 10 minute walk away. There’s plenty of walks in the nearby area, and also plenty of other villages nearby if you’re happy to travel a little. Campsite was also very clean, and not overpacked meaning kids can play happily in the centre of the field without having to worry about cars/vehicles.

Negativ Only slight downside for us was the bell tent we stayed in. As lovely as it was, the ground sheet didn’t seem to be fully attached to the outside of the tent, and as a result even though it was like almost 30 degrees Celsius outside, it was extremely cold and drafty inside. Could just do with a couple of minor repairs in our opinion.

Positiv it was absolutely amazing the wardens are so welcoming and the padington tent was so pretty and peaceful will 100% be coming back!

Positiv Very spacious pitches . Showers were clean and facilities were great . Hair dryer available . We hired the Paddington tent and it was huge with a sofa inside and picnic table outside . 10min walk to pub with nice food . Great location for travelling to the main sites and villages in the Peak District.Def will return

Positiv Really appreciated everything being already set up after a day of hiking! Really enjoyed our stay, the campsite had thought of almost everything I could think of that I needed and its dog friendly, including a separate area. We would stay again when back in the area, everything went really smoothly and the toilet facilities are good.
