Got Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in your sights? You can add a little sailing or windsurfing – and relaxation on a family-run site – into the mix when staying at Pen Y Bont Touring and Camping Park. This peaceful place is just a few hundred metres from the shore of Bala Lake (also known by its Welsh name Llyn Tegid). The fresh air of the national park is sure to aid that well-awaited relaxation… and when you’re feeling fully rejuvenated (and full of tasty food from the shops and restaurants in Bala town centre, 15 minutes’ walk away), there are activities like sailing, windsurfing and boat hire around the lake. Switch up Bala Lake’s gentle ripples for the whitewater of the Tryweryn at the National White Water Centre, 10 minutes’ drive away. Adventurous souls can zoom down the 1080-metre zipwire at Zip World Llechwedd (40 minutes’ drive) or climb Eryri's mountains. If you’d rather move at a more leisurely pace, putting a few balls as you go, head to the golf course on the other side of Bala, half an hour’s walk away from the site. Spa days and massage treatments are available about 10 minutes' walk away too.

Em va agradar Location close to town , shower facilities snd washing up and other facilities caravans and camper are excellent ,first rate.
Showers clean and warm and great toiletries provided .Great pitches too x
Shop has excellent range of items and staff on site are friendly and helpful.

We completely understand your comments regarding play facilities. Unfortunately, due to the size and layout of the site, we simply don’t have the space to provide a dedicated play area. There is, however, a fantastic play area just a short walk from the site, which we are always happy to recommend to families staying with us.

We do have to say that we are a little disappointed to be marked down for the lack of a play area, as this is not a facility that we advertise as being available on site. We always try to be clear about the facilities we offer so that guests can make an informed choice when booking.

Thank you again for taking the time to leave such positive feedback. We’re really pleased that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Em va agradar Lovely pitch and close to the showers and shop

No em va agradar Miles away from everything, loud at night with groups of people, even though the website says no groups. Left 2 days early due to the noise in the morning (6am) and night (12am plus). Won’t be going back. Left early and even though I’d paid until Sunday my pitch was back up for others to book Friday.

However, we are not miles away from everything - we are only a 5 minute walk from the lake, 10-15 minute walk from the town and 30-40 minutes drive to most local attractions.
We’re very sorry that the noise during your stay affected your experience to the point that you decided to leave early. We appreciate how frustrating it must have been to be disturbed both late at night and early in the morning, and we will certainly take your comments on board.
We do have rules in place regarding groups and quiet hours, and we’re disappointed that these were not respected during your stay. We will continue to monitor this closely and address any issues where necessary. We do always advise guests to contact the Warden if they are experiencing issues during their stay, at the time of them occurring, so that we can nip them in the bud at the time - there is little we can do after the event.
Regarding your pitch being made available after you left, once a pitch has been vacated early, it can be released for another guest to book. We’re sorry that your overall experience did not meet expectations and that you’ve decided not to return.

For those days where you can’t be bothered to walk too far, it’s very handy that the station for the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway is just five minutes’ walk away. Views of the water are a given, but count the mountains too: Arenig Fawr, Aran Fawddwy and Aran Benllyn are visible on the route. You may have your sights set on climbing Wales’ tallest mountain, perhaps. If you’re not climbing up Snowdon (an hour's drive) yourself, you might want to take the Snowdon Mountain Railway (an hour and five minutes), which has been making its ascent for over 100 years. A less strenuous trail than the Snowdon climb is the Mawddach Trail, which runs for just under 10 miles from Dolgellau (half an hour), crossing over the gorgeous Barmouth railway bridge on the other end. Coed y Brenin Forest Park (35 minutes) has plenty of trails too, through thick forest this time. You can take them on by mountain bike, standard bicycle or on foot – and there’s bike hire at the forest park.
