Fishing in East Anglia should sound pretty excellent to serious angling types. There are plenty of opportunities for various angling antics at Narborough Fisheries, which has touring pitches on a private 16-acre site with a handful of fishing lakes flowing with chalk stream water from the river Nar. Narborough Fisheries has five lakes available to guests: mixed coarse lake Foresters; match and coarse lake Ashford; carp coarse lake Meadow; specimen carp lake Millers (37-pounders were landed here in 2024); and the well-stocked trout lake Willow. Just remember to bring your Environment Agency rod licence before you get started. The pitches are all set along two of the lakes, with gorgeous lakeside views. There is a shower and toilet block with accessible facilities, as well as a small, well-stocked tackle shop selling a selection of hot and cold drinks, confectionery and other snacks should you need some extra energy to power you through an afternoon of fishing. Away from the rod, you might want to take a day trip to the market town of King's Lynn (20 minutes' drive away) to nose around some shops. There is also a bus from Narborough village that takes a little over an hour to reach Norwich for a day among its Lanes and historic market.

Em va agradar The lakes were beautiful and well stocked. Friendly staff. Magnificent willow trees

No em va agradar Too many (quite large) carp spoils the coarse lake. The hard standing electric hook up are is a bit shabby compared to the rest of the complex.

Em va agradar Lovely, well maintained site, fishing is good on all the lakes, facilities are a bit tired but clean and well maintained.

No em va agradar Some of the anglers should learn to clean up after themselves.

Em va agradar The site was good, the pitches were a little small but adequate the fishing was ok we caught some carp, perch and tench

No em va agradar The first full day was spoilt by young fishermen running around and swearing very loudly , the second day saw one of the group return with his parents who then left leaving rubbish in their swims and car park

Em va agradar Fishing was alright, but couldn’t get on the lake we wanted. Friendly reception on arrival.

No em va agradar Pitch was not as advertised, definitely not hard standing, due to being overgrown, and the neighbours had 2 awnings and a dog run which encroached on our pitch. Facilities were shocking, unclean and only 1 shower for the whole site, brickwork falling down. Overall very run down and not as described. Left feeling very disappointed.

Em va agradar Great place had a spot in front of the lake, so peaceful.
One thing i would say may be upgrade the toilet and shower block and add another shower as only have 1 for the men's and 1 for the lady's.

No em va agradar It could do with more showers only one in the mens on site the shop coulf maybe stock some minor groserys bread milk etc and have staff in thete the whole time when its supposed to be open

Em va agradar The fishing was good,very quiet at night. Friendly staff.

No em va agradar Only one shower in the gents toilet,could do with at least 2 more. People driving past our pitch and not adhering to the speed limit. The site could do with a little bit of a tidy up.

Em va agradar It is only a very little campsite. Fishing is okay if you like catching small fish. Very nice Chinese easy walk. Taxis will not pick you up from this campsite as it is too far for them to come. Unless you wanna pay £28 each way.

Fishing, fishing, nature reserves, the north Norfolk coastline and watery sports: what a lot of activities there are to catch in this part of East Anglia. Look at as many as possible of the Norwich 12 (55 minutes' drive), the city's historic buildings, as can possibly be fitted in on a day trip. (If you only have time for a couple, the obvious two are Norman Norwich Castle, which includes the Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, and Norwich Cathedral with its rather splendid large cloisters.) Going west, pick the cathedral city of Peterborough (an hour and five minutes) for another day trip: alongside its 12th-century cathedral, another good idea is to potter among the quarter of a million or so exhibits of the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery. There are watersports on the lakes at Nene Park (an hour and 10 minutes). Perhaps a puff on the Nene Valley Railway between Peterborough Nene Valley and Yarwell Junction too? Or a night out at the Key Theatre, where shows of all sorts run all year. There is plenty of wildlife and sumptuous scenery in the area, so next up might be a trip to the nearest nature reserve, the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's chalk grassland of the Ringstead Downs (35 minutes) or a wildlife-spotting float around the Norfolk Broads, easily accessible from Norwich.
