Fancy opting for something a little more offbeat than usual for your next trip to Mid Wales? Enter the eclectic Irfon Valley Pods and Camping, part of a smallholding scattered with curios collected by the owner. Free-roaming chickens, geese and ducks are also to be seen in the adjacent field at this park a 10-minute walk from the centre of Llangammarch Wells. In fact, it’s all about the relaxed rural pursuits here with guests taking on activities including walking in the wildlife-rich surrounds, dining alfresco on the site’s picnic tables and cosying up around the large campfire with eyes turned skyward in search of the red kites that often fly overhead. As for travelling to this Powys park, those without a car will be chuffed to know they can ask the driver of the bus from Builth Wells (15 minutes’ drive) to drop them right at the front door. The entrance of the site is easy to spot – just look out for the couple of cutout giraffes peering over the fence. A railway station is half a mile away too and the village has access points to two long-distance footpaths: the 140-mile Heart of Wales Line Trail and the Via Beata route from Lowestoft in Suffolk to St Davids in Pembrokeshire. There's a smart loo block on site with three toilets, a shower and three washing-up sinks. There's also a communal room with games and a shared fridge, microwave and kettle. There's also an outdoor cold shower.

Daffodil 露营舱

喜欢 So peaceful and tranquil. Lots to do for kids and adults. Loved feeding the alpacas and getting chicken eggs. Toys, fire wood, eggs, food and drinks all available at great prices. Exceeded all expectations! Can’t wait to go back there and would recommend to anyone. Jerry - you’re an amazing host! The girls loved you! Thankyou.

喜欢 Everything! This is such an amazing little find. Run by a very welcoming and lovely couple, it is quirky., peaceful and beautiful, so much handmade and done on the site from rustic wooden washing up and shower blocks (with stain glass windows), a toy cupboard, an 'honesty' shop and toy section, a little museum of nothing in particular which was fascinating, alpacas, sheep, geese and chickens wondering round. Absolutely beautiful site.

喜欢 The location, tranquillity, the animals, the staff, the facilities. My friend and I did decide to cut our stay short due to the weather because we had motorcycled in from Portsmouth and we were already damp from the ride up, then the whole evening was wet, then it rained in the night, and just kept on being damp giving us no time to dry out fully. I've given wifi rating a 10 because I've no idea if there was any and couldn't have cared less, it's healthy to disconnect. Will be back next year.

不喜欢 The weather, but it's a gamble this time of year, and just one of those things to have to put a wet tent away, Better luck next year.

Hopefully by next summer we will have a new pod or 2 ready, which will be smaller and cheaper allowing a quick upgrade from the tent if its raining.

喜欢 Excellent facilities, some of the best toilets and showers I've been to on a campsite. Owner was really friendly. Campsite was quiet and just lovely. Had a great time.

喜欢 We live in the med and haven’t camped for 10 years. So the campsite was just what we wanted. Jerry the host was very welcoming. We had forgotten to pack towels and he so kindly lent us some.
The children loved the animals that were around and we loved watching the red kites in the morning.
We would definitely stop there again if ever in the area.

Embark on an escapade to the Elan Valley (35 minutes) instead for dawdles among the dams and lakes that supply water to the Midlands.
