Quarry Hill Campsite

Looking for an off-grid adventure staying on a site with magnificent views of the Yorkshire coastline? Quarry Hill Campsite might be the right spot for you – it's set on nine acres of open grassland and hillside, and with many more acres on hand for you to explore. Yes, this family-run site is off grid but it does have a good clutch of facilities, including spotless separate showers and toilet in a hand-built wooden amenities shack (there are emergency sockets in there for charging devices, by the way), as well as a casual snack bar and alfresco bench seating (both weather dependent) by reception. Barbecues are allowed as long as the weather conditions are not too windy or dry. It's worth noting that the ground is not completely flat here, but the tradeoff for that hilly location is some excellent Yorkshire coastline views. From various points around the site, you can see Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington, as well as the surfing beach at Cayton Bay. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to share your North Yorkshire camping break here, and they're also allowed on Cayton Bay beach all year round. If you’re walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way and don’t have a car, buses to Bridlington and Filey are a short walk away.

喜欢 This is the 2nd time I have visited this site with friends, 3 females all quite new to camping.
Again a lovely warm welcome by the owners, we felt comfortable and safe during our 2 night stay. The amenities were brilliant, very clean and well kept.
The service received was outstanding!
We will definitely book again for next year.

喜欢 Awesome site, loved everything about it, the owners and all the staff are brilliant and cannot do enough for you, so hospitable and accommodating. So peaceful and brilliant for the kids. The "Bear hunt" with the stable vist was the highlight for the kids. Will definitely be back for many years to come.

喜欢 Where do I start this fantastic family run camp site is amazing a shame not open longer my kids are comfortable
As a single mum 2 kids we had a disaster during massive rain storm starting the second day we quickly realised our tent had a massive leak they ensured we was warm and dry which was a relief.
The thoughtfulness of Paul and Kate and the rest of the family are amazing always ensuring kids are smiling never too busy to chat and ask how u are we will be back next year but maybe for longer period

喜欢 The friendly and helpful owners.
Great bacon sarnies and tea in the morning. Lots of space on the field.
Attention to detail from the owners. They really do see what is important for campers and will help out with alsorts!

不喜欢 The pitches are nearly flat and next time we would have a practice lie down before pegging out the tent 🤪

喜欢 This is honestly the perfect place for families, or anyone just looking for a bit of peace and quiet! 🥰
Paul is absolutely brilliant with the children, from late-night bear hunts to trips to see his horses — and my girls even got to collect fresh eggs! 🐴🥚
Kate and the other girls do such a fantastic job in the little café hut too. The food is incredible, and the bubble wands were a HUGE hit with my girls! 🫧
The facilities are spotless!!
Kate & pauls children all do a fab job round the site!

Such a lovely, relaxed place with so much for the kids to enjoy. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back! ❤️

喜欢 Quarry Hill was a fantastic little find. The owners were very friendly helpful and accommodating even lending us a mallet and some tent pegs to help with our set up. We found the Games area to be a real hidden gem and the kids absolutely loved it with free pool, table tennis and football nets set up for the kids to play. I would personally say that the food was the biggest bonus at this place with delicious pizza and pancakes with gorgeous toppings that everyone absolutely loved. The facilities were clean and the water was lovely and hot. I would definitely recommend this campsite to other campers!

不喜欢 The only downside to this campsite would be the steep walk back up to the tent after being down at the games area.

Long-distance walkers, this is a clever overnight stop as the site has direct access to the Yorkshire Wolds Way, and there are bracing hikes along the headlands at Flamborough Head (half an hour’s drive). The North York Moors National Park (15 minutes) is also a hub for hiking and cycling, with many, many trails crossing the moorland. If you’re intent on exploring North Yorkshire’s beaches, you’re spoilt for choice. Dog-owners and surfers can make their way to canine-friendly and remote Cayton Bay (10 minutes’ drive), while Bridlington (20 minutes) has amusement arcades and is the departure point for high-speed boat trips along the coastline. Filey (10 minutes) is known for its quiet family-friendly beach as well as a bird garden, and Scarborough (20 minutes) has a sandy swathe backed by a castle and museums. Kids part of your holiday plans? Let them get up close to cuddle the alpacas and ponies at Playdale Farm Park (10 minutes), or challenge them to races on the inflatables at North Yorkshire Water Park (20 minutes). And if they’re playing up, you could always lose them (temporarily of course) in the seasonal maze at Great Ryedale (15 minutes).
