Popping up just for Suffolk stays in the height of summer, The Roost is a laidback and small-scale site within the meadows of a farm on the edge of Wenhaston. With big open skies, chickens wandering nearby, hedgerows full of wildlife and plenty of space to chill out, this is a fabulous spot for a relaxed rural break – and with the added bonus of being able to walk to the village’s award-winning pub in about 10 minutes. Tucked away in the scenic Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, you’ll be able to get straight out onto quiet footpaths and lanes for a walk or bike ride easily enough, including routes that are suitable for any accompanying kids and dogs you’ve brought along. Alternatively, pile into the car for a trip to the coast (perhaps the beach in Southwold or the birdwatching hides at RSPB Minsmere) or a day out at a castle, a farm park or a theme park – they’re all within about 40 minutes’ drive. However you choose to spend your days, you should at some point stock up on supplies for a barbecue or campfire back on site – either make a lovely prelude to an evening of stargazing under the dark skies. You’ll also be able to freshen up with toilets and showers on site for guest use.

喜欢 Friendly hosts who are very helpful and accommodating. Lovely chickens that are not at all shy. Plus a bath with fridge, kettle and power for recharging etc. You might be luck enough to get some eggs from the friendly hens. Fire basket and wood is also available. The hosts gave us lots of useful tips about the best places to visit. Would def return.

喜欢 Everything. Family run and so kind and helpful. All of the facilities were outstanding. We will definitely be heading back, our family loved our short stay.

不喜欢 The only thing which has nothing really todo with the place itself was on pitchup it said parking next to pitch, which wasn't the case but it was not far and plenty of wheel barrows for use to help. Not really a negative on the site at all.

喜欢 A warm welcome awaited us at the Roost. We were greeted on arrival and invited to select where to pitch our tent in the large field peacefully surrounded by farmland. You can't park by your pitch as the approach to the main field is very steep but campervans and tents were able to use the lower field and able to park beside if mobility is an issue.The small barn is equipped with a kettle and a fridge freezer which was perfect. There are 2 communal toilets, all very clean and one shower at the moment, again all very clean and with hot water. The site is about a ten minute drive to the beautiful Southwold. We would had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the Roost.

喜欢 Wonderful hosts who welcomed us warmly, and even calmly dealt with us blundering in and getting bogged! Fun to see the 1940s tractor put to work. The facilities are basic as expected for a farm campsite but all clean and tidy, lovely warm shower, honesty shop, things for the kids to play with. Would love to have stayed longer. Location also great, close to river and sea for holiday activities

喜欢 Loved this campsite. Really peaceful, nice location. Wheel barrows available to move your kit. The owners are lovely, very friendly and helpful . The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean . We will definitely be coming back.
