Banish any visions of a stressy holiday stuck in hot cars and slow traffic out of your head… At North Shore Holiday Centre, a family-friendly Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Skegness, you won’t have to travel far to stay busy once you arrive. North Shore is on the outskirts of Skegness, and there’s plenty of seaside resorty things to do within easy reach of the site: the sandy beach, pier and town centre are all within walking distance, and you’ll have to drive for less than 15 minutes to get to the museum, nature reserve, aquarium or theme park. There's tons to keep you busy on site too: perfect your end-game at the nine-hole pitch and putt, try out the arcade games, take the kids to the playground and go game-set-match on the tennis courts. Those with dogs should also be pleased to hear that the site has an enclosed dog area where they can be let off their leads. Feeling peckish? There are oodles of eateries within 25 minutes’ walk of North Shore, or you can settle in for a meal on site – call in to the fully-licensed bar-restaurant, then stick around for the evening’s entertainment.

喜欢 The North Shore site is in a brilliant location for easy access by foot to all the attraction of Skegness . All the pitches on the site seemed to be level and of a good size and most pitches are fully serviced .

不喜欢 The shower and toilet block is relatively modern , but I think is in need of a deep clean. I found it very poor that none of the soap dispensers at the sink in the toilet block had any soap in them which is not good for the public health of the campers on the touring part of the site, there wasn’t any soap in the dispenser at the sink at the chemical waste point. The entrance to the site leading to the reception could do with a good sweep.

Kids will want to dive into the aquarium, the fairground and the brightly lit amusements of the pleasure pier, while grownups might have more appreciation for the Naturelands seal sanctuary or The Village, Church Farm open-air museum. Want something for everyone? The entire family should be entertained with trips to Fantasy Island theme park (in nearby Ingoldmells), the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway and the stock car and bangers racing at Skegness Raceway, all within 10 minutes of the site. When you want to take your adventuring beyond the bounds of the seaside town, you can find peace 15 minutes away from the thrill rides and squealing tyres with visits to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or the flat Lincolnshire Wolds for cycling and walking trails, or by making a pitstop at the spectacular Gunby Hall and Gardens for a taste of splendour. For a quirkier outing, make your way a little further afield for a night at the Kinema in the Woods, believed to be the only full-time cinema in the UK still using rear projection for screenings. Screen one is home to an organ covered in 18th-century-style lacquered consoles and screen two has trompe l’oeil-style paintings of rural Lincolnshire on its walls.
