Tyckte om Cheap and cheerful site. My family loved it and will definitely visit again. The toilets were well maintained, pitch sizes were decent and the location is beautiful. The surprise of the field of Alpacas (or llamas?) Was lovely and the children loved saying hi to them.

Tyckte inte om The traffic noise was unexpectedly loud late at night and early hours of the morning, so if you are a light sleeper I'd recommend ear plugs, but it didn't disturb us much at all. With every site I've been to, You can either have easy access or complete quiet, so I don't feel it detracted from the overall experience.

Tyckte om The simplicity of the site the showers and toilet were always clean. Of course the alpacas were the star of the show.

Tyckte inte om The turn off for entering and leaving the site is a bit dodgy especially leaving. The owners can't help this but people just hanging out around our tent despite there being plenty of room on the field. It was a bit creepy.

Tyckte om Nice and small campsite. The facilities were kept nice and clean, very hot showers, lovely to wake up to the Alpacas and great central location to be able to go to Weston, Cheddar and Bristol.
Owners were quick to respond to any queries via text message.
Lovely clear skies, great for watching shooting stars.

Tyckte inte om The only thing we disliked were the noisy sheep next door, and not to mention the farmer rounding them up in the morning by banging on his pick up door.
You can also hear the motorway, but this is nothing the owners can change.

We’re sorry to hear aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a couple of points for future guests. The local pub is an independent business, so unfortunately we have no control over its opening hours. They can occasionally vary, and we’re always happy to advise guests if they contact us before arrival.

We’re also a little confused by the comment regarding sheep, as we have never kept sheep on our campsite or fields. We work hard to maintain the site and take pride in keeping it clean and welcoming for our guests.

We appreciate all feedback and are continually looking for ways to improve the experience we offer. Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you all the best for your future camping adventures.

Tyckte om Amazing campsite, lovely owners. We accidentally lost a Frisbee in with the Alpacas and the owners were very kind and retrieved it later on for us. We also decided to book an extra night and all we needed to do was give the owners a phone call amd they managed to get us on the same pitch. Definitely would recommend. Toilets were cleaned daily and everyone was very friendly.
Myself, my partner and my children will definitely recommend to others and would happily stay again.

Tyckte om Friendly, great value little campsite.

Check-in was straightforward, with instructions including pitch number texted the night before. You can drive up to your pitch to unload but not park next to it... the car park is directly next to the site though, you'll never be more than 2 mins walk from your pitch.

Facilities are "back to basics" in style, but the showers are hot & the toilets flush so this is by no means wild camping. They were also cleaned twice a day during our stay and well maintained. We never had to queue/wait to use the facilities so the number available was appropriate for the size of the site.

Perfect size campsite for kids, with plenty of space to play without straying too far out of sight. The alpacas in the field adjoining was a treat for kids and grownups alike!

The BP garage 5 mins walk away has a well stocked local shop for provisions + some basic camping supplies. The Lamb pub a few mins walk away also does proper pub grub at good prices (with huge portions!) if you want a night off cooking/washing up.

Site is well positioned for local attractions (we visited Avalon Marshes + RSPB reserve which was a 30 min drive away). There's also a public footpath through fields next to the campsite if you fancy getting out and about without driving anywhere.

Tyckte om The owners were really friendly and responsive, sorting any issues quickly, we loved watching the alpacas around the site, and it’s a great location if you want easy access into Cheddar.

Tyckte inte om We found the site quite busy with large groups, and there was music playing in the evenings which got fairly loud. With so many families around, there wasn’t much peace and quiet — sadly that just wasn’t right for us as a couple. The toilets were often in heavy use and did get quite dirty, though to be fair the owners were cleaning them regularly. We knew they’d be basic rural facilities, but there were quite a few cobwebs and spiders around — which we struggle with — so we decided not to use the showers. Also keep an eye out when arriving, as the entrance signs are easy to miss.

We're sorry to hear the site wasn't quite the peaceful retreat you were hoping for. As a family-friendly campsite during the summer holidays, we do welcome a mixture of families, couples and groups, and while we ask all guests to be considerate of others, there are occasions when the site is naturally busier than at other times of the season.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the facilities and signage. As you mentioned, our toilet block is cleaned regularly throughout the day, but during peak periods it can become well-used between cleans. We'll certainly take on board your suggestions about cobwebs, larger pitch numbers and clearer entrance signage as we're always looking for ways to improve.
