От менеджера: Thank you for your kind review - glad you enjoyed our lovely location in this area of outstanding natural beauty. We are so lucky to be able to walk directly to the river, woodland and heath land from the campsite.
One of the downsides of being in such an unspoilt rural location though is that there are not many food options nearby. The cafe will be opening in a couple of weeks for wood-fired pizzas on a Friday evening. I am hoping that the cafe will also reopen at weekends for brunches and lunches in 2027. Currently I am running everything by myself so I will have to organise some extra help to enable the cafe to open on Saturday and Sundays. Meanwhile the pub is open most days and is opening a small cafe too.

Sorry the shower was out of order in the old block. I am waiting for my plumber to come and resolve the airlock - he should be here this week. The showers in the other two shower blocks were working though.

Понравилось Lovely leafy site with large pitches. Love the chickens walking around, the alpacas and other animals.

Не понравилось We have been coming for 4 years and the facilities has deteriorating over the years. The showers need a good scrub, the showers are too hot for me to use, the wood tiles outside the shower cubicles can’t be cleaned. The washing up area needs a new roof and a daily ( at least) clean. We see that the campsite still advertise a Cafe, well in 4 years it has never been open and I don’t think it ever will open. The electricity supply is very iffy. We don’t think we will be back again.

I have no idea what you mean by the EHU hook-up points not working and the electricity being "iffy". My entire campsite is certified each year by my electrician in March - the certificate is displayed on the notice board. All of the hook-up points are working. This weekend I was full and no-one has mentioned a problem with the hook-up. If you had noticed a problem, why didn't you text me and I would have come and resolved it?

Sorry you thought that the toilets were not clean. Most campers find them to be extremely well maintained and frequently comment in their reviews how clean they are - see reviews below. They are cleaned regularly, but I have limited control control over how people leave the toilets after cleaning, but generally I think most people try and leave the facilities as they found them.

I am not sure what you mean by the washing up area needing a new roof - the main facilities were only built in 2018 and the roof over the washing up area is fine. Again they are cleaned on a regular basis but how they appear does depend on how customers leave them.

The cafe has been open in the last 4 years. It was closed in in 2024 because I was seriously ill for a year and I couldn't run it. Last year it reopened doing wood-fired pizzas on a Friday evening. I am currently running the business alone so I can't open it on summer weekends as I used to. Thsi is something I am hoping to change next year when I have more help on the campsite. The cafe was never open mid-week and out of season, as the campsite is located in a very rural area and there isn't the trade to justify opening it at this time. This year, the cafe will again open as a pizzeria on Fridays in the summer months - opening has been delayed by a few weeks as I have again been very unwell - auto-immune diseases are extremely inconvenient. There are updates about the cafe opening times on the website.

Понравилось A lovely open site with lots of room between vans/tents ensuring privacy.
Fabulous walks nearby, long or short which was lovely for the dog. Children will love seeing alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens etc and able to attend a guided feeding occasion. The Sorrell Horse pub close by was lovely. Only a 10 minute walk. A lovely weekend break, thank you.

Не понравилось Would have liked the cafe to be open and maybe a small shop.
My early afternoon shower was tepid but probably my fault for leaving it so late.
We will be back!!

Sorry about the showers, as we are not yet that busy I didn't have them at maximum capacity, but I have remedied that now. Unfortunately, as we are so rural we only have 2-phase electricity which means the water heats up more slowly and it can run out at busy times. I'm hoping to invest in some more solar panels over the next year which should help.

Similarly our rural location means it is hard for the cafe to sustain itself when it is not peak season - I also need to get some more help ion running it - more plans for the future.

Sorry about the hot water - as it isn't very busy at the moment I didn't have the water heater at maximum capacity. I have remedied that now and hopefully it solves the problem. I wil also ask the electrician to double check the immersions in case one of them is broken.

as we are very rural we only have access to 2-phase electricity so we are limited in how much water we can heat up at once. While the tanks are continually heating it does mean that sometimes in busy times of the day it can run a bit cold. I'm hoping to get more solar panels which might help with this.

Понравилось Quiet site, big spacey pitches. Showers are lovely and hot and very clean, along with the toilet facilities . Lovely location in a sleepy rural village, but with facilities like a pub and a large kids park.
