Ellis' Hill Farm Campsite

Понравилось Hospitality, very friendly, greeted on arrival and visited at tent to say hello. Lovely farm shop, like a country kitchen
where you could sit at the farm kitchen table and drink tea with the owner who was full if interesting stories about his life and the farm and why they like to keep it a wild camping experience. Enjoyed camping without all the rules and trappings. Not for everyone but i loved it. Great walks in every direction and pleasant walk to local village where the pub has an impressive food menu.

Понравилось We liked the quietness of the site, and also the owners were there to welcome us when we arrived and direct us on to the field, the cafe was a bonus and you could buy produce aswell if you needed to. The two fields separated with a gate was good so you could have tents in one and vans in another, it was a lovely walking area and a bus stop for Reading town centre.

Не понравилось We found the road leading up to the site was rather bumpy but manageable and there needs to be a sign to show a campsite as we drove past thinking it was just a cafe, the sink was on the floor not in use so maybe put it on the table so it could be connected up and use it.

We are working on the road now that we have had some rain, and we do take your point that it’s a bit bumpy. It’s always going to be a bit bumpy, but we do our best!

Понравилось Loads of space, relatively flat, barrows to take gear from car to pitch... seemed very relaxed. Saw deer, kites and lots of other wildllife.

Понравилось The people running the campsite are lovely, and very understanding if you get stuck and arrive late. Excellent bacon rolls available from the shop/cafe too.

We are always happy to accommodate latecomers as long as you keep in touch with us. We find that Legoland visitors often get stuck in traffic and we can offer alternative cross- country routes which can speed things up!

Понравилось A lovely quiet site, plenty of space, breakfast rolls were great, easy walk to a ford, walks in woods, very close (by car) to a supermarket and Winnersh train station but felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The owners were friendly and helpful.The facilities are basic but I think this is reflected in the price which is really good compared to most sites that charge per person.

Не понравилось Taking rubbish and recycling home, but it made us think how much we produce so it was a good thing really.

Понравилось A wonderful campsite, clean facilities, great vibe. Visited with our dog and 1 year old, loved the diggers, tractors and swing.

Понравилось Lovely property, with lovely people. Love the freedom of the campsite. Lots of nice walks, including to the pub!

Не понравилось Wished there were showers available, however you are informed in advance that there aren't any :)

We constantly review the shower situation, but it would be a big investment for us and we’re not really able to do that just now. We are looking at the possibility of building cubicles for solar showers for next season, so that campers could bring their own and have a bit of privacy.

Понравилось It's a grassy field of which you could pitch your tent. Toilet was basic but clean and usable.

Не понравилось The stupid bloody animal that decided to scream for hours 😂
