Set 29 2014 Postado por Samantha Marsh
Valentine’s Day holidays need not be expensive to create an ambience of wistful romance. Outdoor accommodation specialist Pitchup.com has a number of chic, cosy and heartwarming places to stay where prices cost from as little as £19.50 per person, per night.
Luxury shepherd’s hut
Pitchup.com has availability over Valentine’s Day weekend on its shepherd’s hut at Chittlesford Mill Farm Camping.
This magical shepherd’s hut offers a unique opportunity for outdoorsy lovebirds to enjoy peace and tranquillity in a very quirky setting. Surrounded by 20 acres of land including woodland, ponds and meadows, the hut’s elevated position offers some of the best views in Devon. It really is idyllic. After a romantic stroll through the countryside, couples can return home and get cosy by the woodburner.
The hut includes a double bed, gas hob, lights and a sink. There is a sofa right by the woodburner meaning guests can cuddle up and keep warm while watching the flames dance away. The farmhouse is a short walk away and contains a fully functioning bathroom. The campsite also has a cold running water tap. A two-night stay over Valentine’s Day costs £140.
Quirky converted cargo container!
Much more impressive than it sounds is the beautiful CargoPod at Lee Wick Farm Cottages and Camping in Essex.
This former cargo container has been transformed into a stunning holiday home complete with its own private decked veranda. The CargoPod has all the creature comforts of home whilst still allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors. Situated on a farm stabling around 18 horses and close to a nature reserve, this is the perfect place to go on a country walk with a loved one.
The CargoPod’s bedroom is spacious and tastefully decorated with a patio door that offers views of the surrounding countryside. There is also a large living/dining/kitchen area and a wetroom/bathroom. The pod is fully double glazed and heated and offers everything couples would need for an unusual escape. A one-night stay for Valentine’s Day costs £65.
Mountainside breaks in the heart of Snowdonia
The image of a weekend break in the mountains of Snowdonia conjure up an idyllic Valentine’s Day retreat. The pods at Bryn Dinas Camping Pods in Beddgelert, Gwynedd offer a chance to stay in the heart of Wales’ most famous mountain range. The Watkin Path route to the summit of Snowdon is just 300 metres from the door so this is an ideal choice for active couples.
The pods offer warm, safe accommodation and come with beds, storage space, tea- and coffee-making facilities, hair dryer, crockery and cutlery. A communal room with Wi-Fi, a library and kitchen area is just a short stroll from the pod, as are the bathrooms. The pods cost just £39 for a one-night stay for Valentine’s Day so ideal for couples on a tight budget.
