We run a small campsite on our working farm in the heart of South Devon.
The campsite offers tent pitches and a luxury shepherd's hut which is situated in a private location at the end of the garden of the farmhouse. The shepherd’s hut has an elevated position which makes the most of the long-reaching views of the Devon countryside and sunrise; it is really beautiful and rural.
Our small native woodland trees offer some privacy and a great natural playground for children, there is also a small spring to explore. Some of the land is very wild, so is fantastic for nature - you would benefit from long trousers and wellies if you really want to go exploring 'off piste'! The site is surrounded by 20 acres of land including woodland, fish ponds and meadows and is great for anyone who likes to play outdoors and explore nature.
Campsite and shepherd’s hut guests have the use of a fully functioning bathroom in the farmhouse including a bath tub. The campsite has a cold running water tap but no utility area. The walk from the campsite to the farmhouse facilities is approximately one minute. We have space to pitch in a lovely airy Dutch barn if the weather turns - a camping holiday in Devon doesn’t have to be sunshine dependent! The campsite is large but as we only have limited facilities, we offer just a small number of pitches - so we really are perfect for a quiet getaway with the freedom to explore our farm and surrounding areas.
We farm sheep and cattle and at certain times of the year there are lambs, calves, pigs and chickens. We have two dogs who are very good with children and we welcome other well-behaved dogs. Please keep your dogs on leads as we are a working farm with livestock nearby.
We encourage campers to have fires in the designated firepits. There's nothing better than the warmth of an open fire under the amazing canopy of stars we get here under our Devon sky.
We offer breakfast and sometimes dinner in the farmhouse or alfresco, at an additional cost, however there is a maximum on the number of people we can cater for so please register an interest on arrival or on balance payment.
We sell homegrown lamb, beef, pork, veg and eggs (depending on what we have in stock). There is a lovely village shop just a five-minute drive away and two garages for late night or a quick fix! The towns of Totnes and Dartmouth are only a ten to 15-minute drive away.
Open from 01/06/2017 to 31/08/2017

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

From the town of Totnes take the A381 south for 5 miles. The farm is located 3 minutes past the village of Harberton Ford. The entrance is on the right from this direction and is at the bottom of a hill. The farmhouse is yellow.
From Kingsbridge or Dartmouth follow signs towards Totnes on the A381. The farm is located on the left 3 minutes past the village of Halwell. The entrance is next to a lay-by, the farmhouse is yellow and can be seen from the road.
Please be aware that to get to our lovely campsite you will need to drive past our farmhouse and through our working farm. It is not sterile and you will see tractors, agricultural buildings and farm detritus. We only moved in this year so are still tidying and planting trees. Although the campsite is in a gorgeous location, in a young woodland and hay field, please don't be put off by the drive past our barn and do come back in the future to benefit from all the hard work we are putting in making the approach better for the future.
Please be aware that the track to the site is bumpy and you may not be able to drive right up to your pitch. We will endeavour to help you with kit lifts in our 4x4 if you need. We are also happy for you to leave your car further down the track in a parking area if you are unsure.
