The Shottisham Campsite

Gostou Great location with an easy walk down to the pub. Lovely walks into the forest. Nice having the animals around on site.... Lovely for children. Nice and quiet at night no road noise.

Não gostou Showers blocks were dirty and didn't appear to be attended during our stay. Site looks a bit sad and unkempt.... Maybe it's end of season blues.

Sorry you found the shower blocks to be not as clean as we would like them to be. We do clean them every day but especially in bad weather they can get dirty again quite quickly. Most people comment on how clean they are so I am sorry that your experience was not as good.

Gostou Location, size of pitch, cafe, animals on site, free range chickens, walks from site, dog friendly, welcoming, hard working site owner

Não gostou Someone else had parked on our pitch. Soon resolved without issue. Grass pitches were starting to get a bit bald in places, Chemical disposal was blocked but soon cleared by a resident on site.
Toilets and showers could do with more regular and thorough cleaning but were fine.

Gostou peaceful setting, lovely walks, beautiful.
visited Sutton Hoo - well worth it. Loved the free range chickens

Gostou A lovely campsite with plenty of space, peaceful and clean facilities. There is a good woodland/heathland at the back of the campsite for dog walking and plenty of quiet footpaths nearby. Also, great for star gazing!
Clare was very welcoming and sends an email early on your first day, giving the details of your pitch number.

Não gostou You’ll need a 25m cable (not 20m) as some pitches are quite far from the connection point.

Some of the pitches are quite far from the hook-up points, but I always have 25 metre cables I am happy to lend to people with shorter ones.

Gostou The peace and ease of the whole site, we had dogs with us and there were nice little strolls through the woods from the site.

Não gostou Bit of a dead zone for signal both on phones and the TV, but not exactly a bad thing!

Gostou Generous flat pitch. Position close to Sutton Hoo. Owner welcomed us.

Não gostou Toilets were modern but rarely clean. The washing up area was dirty and with only 2 sinks which meant queuing at peak times. No cold water taps in washing area for cleaning teeth.

Do gerente: Thank you for your feedback. We do have another toilet block with an additional two washing up sinks. The toilets are also cleaned every day and most people compliment us on the cleanliness of the facilities. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee how they will be left by people after cleaning has happened. Generally people are really considerate of their fellow campers and leave them in a clean state but I am sorry this wasn't the case when you were here.

Gostou Great toilet and shower facilities, Claire the owner is so welcoming and helpful. It has a really nice, calm atmosphere. There are handy fridges on site and the pitches are a great size.
