Gostou: Lovely site, spacious and quiet. Pre stay information was comprehensive and made getting set up easy and the owner was very helpful. On site facilities were good and the whole site seemed cared for and well-maintained and the local playground was great for the kids.

Não gostou: No phone signal and wi-fi wasn't working when we stayed. Not a problem for us but others may want to be aware

The wifi is currently a bit hit and miss because of some technological problem (I don't really understand it). I am struggling to get the people who installed it to help - but I will find someone who can and hopefully it will be working reliably very soon.

Gostou: Always hate giving such positive reviews as it often means these hidden gems become popular and the price goes up. Honestly can't fault it, lovely site.

We stayed in a tent in the back corner and it was perfect, not sure if it was a double pitch or should have been others but we had lots of space. Felt it gave us our privacy and with a 5 year old who doesn't realise tents aren't soundproof it meant that we didn't need to worry about that. Really made a difference and made it very enjoyable so don't shrink the plots.

At night we were able to watch the bats, and there was zero light pollution and absolutely no noise apart from the wind in the trees. Other sites we've stayed at you can sometimes hear the road or farm equipment, didn't here.

The facilities were clean and well stocked with paper, etc, and the drinking water tap was easily located.

Everyone was polite and friendly.

We didn't get to use the full facilities or explore the farm area as only there one night but the village play area being just next door was lovely when my son woke up at 6:00. Also well maintained.

Location being only 10 minutes from Sutton hoo and 15 from Woodbridge was ideal. A couple of narrow roads as you approach just to be aware of.

Não gostou: Not necessarily a dislike as I enjoyed being able to cut off but one for people to be aware of if needing it, there is no phone signal for Three and the WiFi obviously doesn't extend to the edges of the site. Its rural Suffolk so to be expected and as I said, not an issue for us but could be for those who need contact.

Do gerente: Thank you for your lovely review. I am so pleased you had a lovely time and the pitch was just right for you. I have no intention of shrinking the plots, it's good to feel that you have space when camping. We are so lucky that the village play area is right next to the campsite - maybe next time you will be here when 'animal feeding' happens (every saturday 5.30 and normally Wednesday 5.30 in school holidays) and you will get to come along and feed the chickens, alpacas pigs and goats!

Phone signal is very patchy here - it's great being rural for bats and no light pollution, but not so good for connectivity.

Não gostou: Toilet facilities ran very low on loo roll for afternoon (subsequently stocked up but it was… awkwardly timed!).

I do try and keep them stocked up with extra toilet rolls on the window sills. I have now bought some wall-mounted commercial toilet roll dispensers which hold larger rolls so hopefully the toilet paper won't run out as often as more.

Gostou: This site is beautiful, idyllic and peaceful. The first thing we saw on arrival was a free roam Chicken and wild rabbits. Claire, the owner came to meet us to check in and she was lovely. We purchased bacon, sausages and eggs which were all from her farm. Complete with Alpacas and goats. The toilets and showers were immaculate, there are also lots of dog walks from the camping fields. We will be coming back.

Gostou: A wonderful campsite. Claire gave us such a warm welcome. Feeding the farm animals was a wonderful experience. My Granddaughter loved it as did the grown ups.
Would recommend catching the Bawdsey walk on ferry across to Felixstowe.

I love getting the ferry to Felixstow as well. Maybe next time you could try the weekend ferry that runs from Boyton across Butley creek - it is a small rowing boat run by volunteers and is great.

Gostou: A lovely peaceful environment situated on a small farm with hens, alpaccas, goats and a very friendly cat 🐈.
Claire the host was so welcoming and helpful.
We hired a firepit and purchased wood, sausages, bacon and eggs which were absolutely delicious.
The toilets and shower blocks were spotless.
The were lots of lovely areas to explore and walk and a great play area with a small football pitch which my boys loved!
The pub was literally a 5 minute walk and does great food.
All in all a really super place.

Não gostou: WiFi/phone signal was very scarce, though we quite enjoyed that

Do gerente: Thank you for your lovely review. It was so good to meet you and I am pleased you had such a lovely time. I might be biased but I do think the sausages and bacon are brilliant - slow-grown, rare-breed pigs produce very tasty meat!

I am also pleased the cat was on his best behaviour - we have had words!

The phone signal here is rubbish ):

We do have wifi, but the data is a bit limited and connection can be hard if lots of people are using it. I am trying to think about a better solution but it is hard to get a company to install anything better than what we have already - downside of being really rural I guess.

Gostou: The campsite is split in to three areas with lots of space for each pitch.
The facilities were always immaculately clean and well lit in the evenings and throughout the night.
The campsite is within walking distance to a pub that serves food and is very welcoming to campers.
Wi-Fi was useful given the local signal was not great in the village.
We will definitely be back for another visit and there were families who we spoke to who make this there go to site on an annual basis.
We heard that the pizzas on Fridays are great but this was not open during our visit.

Não gostou: We really couldn’t fault this place. A great find!

The local pub is great and they always welcome people from the campsite. They often have music and quiz nights too.

Gostou: Site was easily accessible despite its remote location and the information provided in the welcome pack was useful. Plenty of nice walks for the dogs and only an hours stroll from the Ramsholt Arms. Toilet and shower areas were clean and well presented. Water points were easily located and the two facility blocks seemed sufficient, with the site reasonably busy for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Não gostou: Whilst we expected mobile phone signal to be poor, we were advised that WiFi was available across the site. Sadly we found this not to be the case. Whilst the network was found on each of our 3 devices, none of them were able to make a connection and thus we were not able to 'stay in touch' etc.
We found that the hot water was a bit hit and miss, often washing hands in luke warm water. A couple of washing up trips were unsuccessful due to the lack of warm water. The showers we had were nice, however.
Lack of rainfall meant the ground was incredibly hard, although hardly the operators fault. Finally, the quiet hours were not generally observed or enforced... plenty of children running around screaming at 6:30 am on a Sunday morning (again, hard to blame the operator for this).
We did not however deem it necessary to contact the operator for any of these issues and decided to embrace nature and the camping life!

Do gerente: Hi, I'm pleased you enjoyed walking with the dogs around the campsite. We are in a remote but beautiful area with really good walking. Unfortunately the remoteness, while lovely, does make some things difficult such as phone reception and wifi. I'm really sorry you had problems connecting to the wifi. Some people did mention this. I tried troubleshooting the system over the weekend and managed to get connectivity. Unfortunately, there is only so much data available. When I had the system installed I decided to try and offer free wifi and pay for a specific phone line and monthly package but the data is limited which means if lots of people are streaming films or tv shows etc it can be hard for everyone to join. I am thinking that maybe I need to just get a third party to install and run wifi provision which unfortunately means people would have to pay to log on, but it might be better i terms of reliability. When I first installed the system because of our remote location and lack of phone coverage no other companies wanted to provide a service so we went with what there was. I will get in touch with the person who installed the system to ask if there is anything else I can do to improve matters in the meantime.

Glad the showers were good - sometimes at peak times of the day the hot water can run out - we have a boiler system and it takes time to reheat when being used a lot. I am hoping to get more solar panels and maybe also will try and get some more boilers as well - again being remote makes it quite hard providing services as we have limited electrical supply and no gas so can't have on demand heating for water.

I try and run a quiet campsite and if you text me I will always politely ask people not to make a lot of noise at unsocial times such as 6.30am.
