Banish any visions of a stressy holiday stuck in hot cars and slow traffic out of your head… At North Shore Holiday Centre, a family-friendly Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Skegness, you won’t have to travel far to stay busy once you arrive. North Shore is on the outskirts of Skegness, and there’s plenty of seaside resorty things to do within easy reach of the site: the sandy beach, pier and town centre are all within walking distance, and you’ll have to drive for less than 15 minutes to get to the museum, nature reserve, aquarium or theme park. There’s tons to keep you busy on site too: play a round of miniature golf, perfect your end-game at the nine-hole pitch and putt, have a go at bowls or boules, try out the arcade games and go game-set-match on the tennis courts. Feeling peckish? There are oodles of eateries within 25 minutes’ walk of North Shore, or you can settle in for a meal on site – call in to the fully-licensed bar-restaurant, then stick around for the evening’s entertainment.

Gostou Good sized pitches , very level. Easy walk to beaches and into Skegness. Bus stop outside if needed . Shop on site , bar and amusement’s but didn’t use them , are amusements really necessary? Also no hair dryers , if you don’t take your own

Não gostou Although loads of toilets and showers , which were good and clean , they lacked shelving and seating , or somewhere to put your stuff , also water pressure was terrible in showers , although were really hot , shame as I think this let them down . The site site was full but never found them busy .

Gostou Really good pitches and clean site overall. Loved the location and how quiet it is.

Não gostou Very basic showers and toilets. Plenty of them but showers were not the best. Lack of marking of pitches so was wandering round looking for out pitch.

Kids will want to dive into the aquarium, the fairground and the brightly lit amusements of the pleasure pier, while grownups might have more appreciation for the Naturelands seal sanctuary or The Village, Church Farm open-air museum. Want something for everyone? The entire family should be entertained with trips to Fantasy Island theme park (in nearby Ingoldmells), the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway and the stock car and bangers racing at Skegness Raceway, all within 10 minutes of the site. When you want to take your adventuring beyond the bounds of the seaside town, you can find peace 15 minutes away from the thrill rides and squealing tyres with visits to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or the flat Lincolnshire Wolds for cycling and walking trails, or by making a pitstop at the spectacular Gunby Hall and Gardens for a taste of splendour. For a quirkier outing, make your way a little further afield for a night at the Kinema in the Woods, believed to be the only full-time cinema in the UK still using rear projection for screenings.
