In need of a Devon des res with smashing views? Lynmouth Holiday Retreat is a quiet site in the hills above Lynton and Lynmouth in the Exmoor National Park. As it's got direct access to the A39, it's a top contender if you're looking for a base to explore the Devon and Somerset coast. Needless to say, there's plenty of stunning scenery around here: keep your eyes peeled for resident wildlife like wild ponies, red deer and birds of prey. The surrounding countryside is also full of trails for rural rambles, including the long-distance South West Coast Path. Dogs are welcome at the site and direct access to footpaths makes it a breeze to keep Fido fit and healthy. Lynmouth Holiday Retreat has plenty of practical benefits too: facilities include a food shop, wifi, a washing-up area and a launderette to keep your gear spick and span. If you find yourself getting peckish, feel free to set up a barbecue, order a takeaway or head down into Lynton (five minutes away) to stock up at the supermarket. You'll likely want to linger here for a stroll around its picture-worthy cottages, fishing boats and genteel Victorian buildings. Alternatively, forage for your own supper by taking the kids crabbing down at Lynmouth harbour (five minutes' drive).

Polubione Easy access. WiFi. Power and water on pitch. Plenty of grass.

Niepolubione Not many of the pitches have the expected views. Many pitches on uneven ground. Arduous walk to Lynton/Lynmouth. No hose in the chemical waste area. Push button showers last 3/5 SECONDS!!!!

Polubione Site is in a lovely position and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dog exercise field was great and also the 'eat at the retreat'.

Niepolubione Although the shower block is modern and very clean there are a couple of things which would make having shower more efficient and pleasant.
1. As the weather had changed heating would've been appreciated
2. The water cut off is a little too quick, particularly when the block is cold.
3. There is nowhere to put shower gel/shampoo within the cubicle, a shelf would be helpful.
4. For those in a tent or camper without facilities the lack of privacy
cubicles with wash basins is surely difficult. For example not everyone wants to wash their face/brush their teeth or do their make up in public.

Polubione Absolutly lovely site! Couldnt fault a thing, lovely spacious pitch, great view over the fields behind, very clean and tidy with friendly reception staff. Shame we only stayed the 1 night over bank holiday! A nice touch having the Airstream serving food and cocktails 👌

Polubione Pretty much everything, facilities were exceptional and the best i have come across, clean well maintained toilets and showers, on site shop with the essentials and some extras! On site food airstream was really good with a nightly special and good sized portions. Views were stunning from our bay view pitch. Would highly recommend and have booked to stay again.

Niepolubione This are just observations and not really things we disliked, roads to the site can be on the narrow side and lots of hills and tight bends, we don't have the best car and we made so it's perfectly accessible I would just be awareness this, some of the hill need a run up to get up! Showers cut off quickly and get very hot so just be careful of that. Like I said this is all I would say and not really dislikes

Guests here have plenty of attractions and activities on their doorstep in and around Lynton and Lynmouth (five minutes' drive). For a novel way to travel between the two, try the funicular cliff railway that connects the twin towns. In the surrounding countryside, you can marvel at the geological formations of the Valley of the Rocks (10 minutes) or head out to the forest around Watersmeet (15 minutes) for waterfalls and an elegant Victorian tea room. Many head to this part of the country in search of outdoor pursuits, so sporty types may well be pleased to learn that Lynmouth Holiday Retreat is close to a stables (10 minutes), fishing lake (20 minutes) and golf club (40 minutes). To really get that blood pumping, hike some or all of the 14 miles along the coast to Combe Martin, a hilly stretch of the South West Coast Path that includes this trail's highest point. You may, of course, prefer a day lounging on the beach (and with beaches like these, who can blame you?). Top seaside towns nearby include Minehead, with its rockpools, and Ilfracombe with its castle and aquarium (both half an hour away).
