Likte Shepards huts themselves were good to stay in with kids, service leaves a lot to be desired, heard they are getting rid of the huts and focusing on the statics which explains the state of the bathrooms. Location in terms of the beach and st abbs is great too.

Likte ikke Cleaning of the shepards huts was not adequate, i found a blue tablet on the floor and i was staying there with 2 children, this is not safe! Also roller blind in hut 8 does not roll up, and is shredded so lets light in.
Shower and toilet block not very clean, and family bathroom had no running hot water, and no plug so could not use to get the kids clean in there.
Staff had no idea what time anything opens, told bar opened at 10am sunday by reception, then 11am, then 12noon!

Likte Loved the playpark next to the pods and little lighting, it made it feel really cosy. Excellent value for money!

Likte ikke Wasn’t made aware that the restaurant wasn’t serving food so that was a bit of a pain as we came back to the park early to have dinner there. Fridge hadn’t been cleaned and had been leaking that was my only fault with the pod. Also the toilets weren’t cleaned regularly as there was a dirty used tampon on the floor for the two days

We’re very sorry, however, that the cleanliness of the pod and toilet facilities fell below the standard we expect. A fridge that hadn’t been properly cleaned and was leaking should certainly have been picked up before your arrival, and we’re particularly concerned to hear about the issue you experienced in the toilets. We will be raising these points with our housekeeping and facilities teams.

We also apologise that you were not made aware that the restaurant was not serving food during your stay. We completely understand how frustrating this would have been when you had planned to return to the park for dinner. We’ll review how changes to our food service are communicated to guests to help avoid this happening again.

Thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the pod and park overall, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to provide you with a much-improved experience on a future visit.

Likte ikke Toilet/ shower block was a little dated & could do with some TLC with this said I think the park could easily charge more for the pods and make a few small changes on the facilities. Pods could do with few more hooks or shelfs on the wall above the beds.

We’re very sorry, however, that the toilet and shower facilities and the condition of Pod 4 fell short of the standard we aim to provide. The detailed points you’ve raised regarding the shower curtains, wet floors, lack of hooks and shelving, resealing, shower temperatures and general cleanliness are extremely helpful. We appreciate you taking the time to explain exactly what you experienced, rather than simply highlighting that there was a problem.

We’re particularly concerned to hear about the cold water in the accessible/family shower and will ensure this is brought to the attention of our maintenance team. Your suggestion regarding a squeegee or mop for guests, as well as more frequent checks of the toilet and shower facilities, is also something we will pass on for consideration.

Thank you too for your comments about Pod 4 itself, including the flooring, mattress and general condition. We understand that these details can make a significant difference to a guest’s experience, and we’ll make sure your feedback is shared with the relevant teams so that the pod can be assessed.

We’re sorry that these issues took some of the shine off what otherwise sounds like a very enjoyable stay. Likte Cheap price for Pod, basic but entirely as expected for this sort of stay.
Friendly staff, especially the guy heading up the bar.
Only stayed for 1 night so not much more I could say.

Likte ikke Not enough parking spaces by the pods, seemed to be more cars parked than there were pods - recommend some sort of display card system so you can only park if you have a pod.
Toilets were a little bit of a further walk than is ideal.

Likte The location is fantastic and the staff we spoke to were really nice and helpful.

Likte ikke The pod itself was seriously neglected. The lock on the door was not convincing - we kept having to put valuables in the car. The heater and TV didn't work. The single mattresses had springs sticking out and the double mattress had a slat missing.
The worst thing was the toilet block is so far away, which is crazy because surely it's only the pods that need to use them. The toilets blocked often and the showers weren't great either.
We were going to eat in the restaurant on the last night but there was a big private party with loud music until at least 11pm. We were glad to leave unfortunately, which is a shame because the Coldingham itself is an absolute gem and we would love to go back.

Likte The price – unfortunately, that was the only positive thing about our stay.

Likte ikke The toilet facilities are far too far away from the accommodation. When we arrived, reception told us there were two toilets, one of which was locked at 9:30 pm. We never actually managed to find that one. The other toilet was a considerable distance away.
The showers, located in the same building as the toilets, were absolutely awful – dirty, unhygienic and covered in mould. They were definitely not somewhere you would feel comfortable showering.
The pod itself is very dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. The mattress was particularly bad – it looked so old and unpleasant that we barely wanted to touch it, let alone sleep on it.
We were also disappointed that the fish and chip shop closes at 5 pm, which seems extremely early, especially for people staying on site who may want an evening meal.

Overall, we are very glad that we booked this place for only four nights, and only did so because our preferred accommodation was unavailable for these particular dates.
Unfortunately, we definitely would not return and could not recommend this place to others. The low price simply does not make up for the poor facilities, cleanliness and overall condition of the accommodation.
