Likte Lovely campsite, quiet location. Good facilities on site. Nice to see a Tiger Moth land and take off from the airfield.
Pop up bar Saturday night was a nice touch with a live singer

Likte Super clean and well kept, especially the toilets and showers. Relatively quiet, everyone is friendly, and there are lots of facilities including washer and dryer, a game room, and picnic tables. They host little events like pizza night on Friday, and on the Saturday we had a lovely local lady with a pop-up pub that was fantastic. Super friendly and helpful owners, we would definitely visit again when in the area.

Likte Good location. Check-in was easy. Available facilities were close to the camping fields etc.

Likte ikke Basically no hot water from the taps across the 48 hours or so we were there. Showers were hot but low pressure, but no hot water from the bathroom or utility room taps.

The site was busy, so I have some sympathy, but the bathrooms needed more regular cleaning. The mobile shower block was disgusting frankly by the Sunday morning.

Saying there was no hot water in all the taps was simply not true in the bathrooms as they are electric not on a boiler, so this was not possible. The bathrooms are cleaned very regularly, but we cannot help the weather with dry broken off grass in the dewy mornings being walked into the units, in fact we were very aware of this, and we went round the facilities every hour Sunday morning sweeping up grass. To say the shower block was disgusting is frankly very upsetting to us and not true, unless you are referring to grassy wet floors, we work extremely hard and with pride to keep them clean for all and again on Sunday morning the floors were mopped regularly, perhaps you could off picked up the mop provided before you used, we really cannot help how others before you used them

Likte We had a lovely stay at the campsite overall. Tracey was Friendly and welcoming. It’s a nice, family-friendly site with a games room and a shop, which was really handy. It’s also great for families and dogs, and we really enjoyed sitting outside watching the planes go over — that was definitely one of the highlights!

Likte ikke There were a couple of things that could be improved. We felt there weren’t quite enough toilets for the number of people staying on the site.

The main issue for us was the site being locked between 11pm and 8am. I’ve stayed at many campsites and have never experienced being completely locked in or out of a site before. I understand having quiet hours and restricting access overnight, but I do feel there needs to be a safe and practical way for guests to get in and out in an emergency.

We returned just after 11pm after attending a memorial and found ourselves unable to get back onto the site. We tried using the contact number provided on the sign, but it didn’t feel as though our call was appreciated and we were spoken to rudely. This was particularly upsetting given the circumstances.

My concern is that if there were a genuine emergency, guests could potentially be trapped inside the site or unable to get back in, yet there doesn’t seem to be a suitable emergency contact arrangement. If guests are not expected to call the number provided on the sign, then perhaps an alternative solution could be considered, such as providing a small area of parking outside the entrance for guests who return after 11pm, so they wouldn’t need to disturb anyone or make a phone call.

I would also suggest making the 11pm lock-up much clearer with a prominent sign stating that the gates will be locked instead of just shut and explaining what guests should do if they need to return after this time. A work/emergency contact number rather than a personal number would also feel much more appropriate.

Overall, we did enjoy the campsite and there are definitely some lovely things about it. With clearer communication, a better solution for late-night access and a more understanding approach when guests have genuine reasons for returning late, I think the experience could be much better.

Fra bestyreren: We feel it is important to clarify several points in this review, as we believe it gives a misleading impression of what actually occurred.

The campsite’s vehicle gates are clearly and prominently signed as closing at 11pm. There is a clearly visible sign at the entrance, approximately 1.5 metres square, stating the vehicle gate closing time. Every customer entering the campsite passes this sign and has the opportunity to see the closing time. It is therefore not a minor detail hidden within our terms and conditions or something guests could reasonably be unaware of.

The 11pm closing time is also communicated through our normal pre-arrival information, and guests receive an induction on arrival covering the site arrangements and emergency contact numbers.

In this particular case, the timing is confirmed by our CCTV. The vehicle gates closed at 23:01, and the guests arrived back at the entrance at 23:11, approximately ten minutes after the gates had closed.

The guests then remained at the closed vehicle entrance with their vehicle headlights shining into the campsite. This disturbed other guests who were already asleep. Security therefore attended at approximately 23:15 to deal with the situation and prevent further disturbance to other guests.

The guests subsequently walked back to their tent, where they continued discussing the incident late into the night. This further disturbed other guests who were trying to sleep. The issue therefore extended beyond their late arrival at the closed gate and resulted in additional disturbance to other customers staying on the site.

The gate was therefore operating exactly as advertised. The guests were not unexpectedly locked out; they had returned after the clearly stated vehicle access closing time.

The 11pm closure is an established site rule which applies equally to every guest. Other guests staying on the site that evening had returned before 11pm and had complied with the stated arrangements. We see no reason why these guests should have been given preferential treatment or an exception to a clearly advertised rule simply because they chose to return after the published closing time.

Allowing an exception would also be unfair to the guests who had complied with the rule. The 11pm closure exists for good reason, including maintaining the security and quiet enjoyment of the site for guests who have returned within the stated hours. Allowing individual late arrivals to enter by vehicle after 11pm could itself result in complaints from other guests who had followed the rules.

There is also a separate walk-in public access gate, so the suggestion that guests are simply “locked in or out” of the campsite is misleading. Pedestrian access remains available, and guests have been provided with emergency contact information and the relevant site arrangements.

We also do not accept the characterisation of the telephone conversation or the suggestion that our response was unreasonable. The situation arose because the guests had returned after the clearly advertised 11pm vehicle gate closure, and their subsequent use of their vehicle headlights, followed by continued discussion at their tent late into the night, disturbed other guests.

There is also an additional matter relevant to the overall circumstances. The vehicle used by the guests that evening was not included on their booking and no payment was made for that additional vehicle. The guests subsequently departed without paying the applicable additional vehicle charge. While this is not the principal issue concerning the review, we believe it is relevant to note that the review does not provide a complete account of the circumstances surrounding their stay.

With regard to the comments about the toilet facilities, our facilities are regularly cleaned and maintained, and we do not accept the suggestion that they are inadequately maintained.

We operate a busy campsite and have rules for good reason. Those rules are communicated clearly, are prominently displayed at the entrance and are applied consistently to all guests. We cannot compromise established site rules simply because an individual guest chooses to return after the published closing time.

For clarity, the central issue described in this review was not an unexpected closure or a failure to provide access arrangements. The CCTV confirms that the gates closed at 23:01, the guests arrived at 23:11, and security attended at approximately 23:15 after their vehicle headlights were disturbing other guests who were already asleep. The subsequent disturbance continued after they returned to their tent.

We therefore consider the portrayal of these circumstances in the review to be unfair and misleading

Likte We really enjoyed our one night stay. Good location and easy access. Pub within walking distance, nice little shop. Great showers and toilets. Loved the bark park for our dog. Use of a fridge and freezer was great too.

Likte ikke Wifi was a little hit and miss during busy times but thats to be expected.
