Likte a beautifully set up camping experience. We particularly liked the defined boundaries of each pitch. Sometimes other sites are not as defined and this can cause issue. We also rate a site on its bathroom facilities. It was great to have all necessary amenities in the one room, making it easier. . We didn’t use the bar or cafe facilities but they appeared to be well used and welcoming looking in from the outside.

Likte ikke One thought would be to consider the gravel road, particularly on a bend where we were pitched. Banking of the gravel makes for an amplified ‘crunch’ even at 5mph as vehicles round the bend

We're also pleased that you rated our private bathroom facilities so highly. Having the toilet, shower and wash basin all within one individual room is something many of our guests really value, and we're glad it made your stay more convenient.

Thank you as well for your constructive feedback regarding the gravel roadway. We'll certainly take a look at the section you mentioned, as we appreciate that gravel can naturally build up on bends over time. We regularly grade and maintain the roadways, and your comments will help us identify if any additional attention is needed.

As the site manager, I did have the opportunity to speak with your wife whilst she was in reception during your stay. It was evident that the mobility scooter being used was a very lightweight model, more suited to smooth surfaces such as shopping centres and town pavements than to outdoor campsite roadways.

We completely understand that transporting a larger, wider-wheeled scooter may not always be practical. However, for future visits we would recommend hiring a more suitable all-terrain mobility scooter from one of the local hire companies, as these are much better suited to granite roadways and uneven outdoor surfaces.

Whilst we do not specifically describe the composition of our roadways within the booking information, the photographs on both our website and booking platforms clearly show that the site roads are finished with granite stone, which is a common and practical surface for campsites.

Likte Great for a quiet break, location perfect for a number of beaches. Staff lovely, onsite bar, great dog walks.

Likte We loved the site, everyone was friendly, it was easy to find, bathrooms brilliant and everything we needed on site.

Likte ikke Sadly, our tent pitch was obviously an old camper pitch as it was covered in gravel. Which has put a small hole in a couple of places in our groundsheet of a brand new tent.

Our Metpow fair usage electricity system has been in place throughout the whole of the 2026 season and has been very well received by the vast majority of our guests. It allows us to keep our pitch prices well below the average for the local area while ensuring that those with unusually high electricity consumption contribute fairly towards the additional costs.

Having checked your stay, I can confirm that your electricity usage remained comfortably below the fair usage allowance, so you did not incur any additional charges.

At this time of year, the allowance is intentionally set to comfortably meet the needs of the vast majority of guests. Additional charges are generally only seen where guests are charging electric vehicles, all-electric camper vans, or using heavy air conditioning for extended periods. Without a fair usage system, those higher electricity costs would have to be built into everyone's pitch fees, meaning guests with normal usage would effectively be subsidising those using significantly more power.

The Metpow system is also clearly explained before guests arrive. It is included within the Pitchup booking description, detailed on our website, and we send a pre-arrival email to every guest explaining how the system works and how to use it. Our reception team are also always happy to assist anyone who would prefer help setting it up.

We believe the current system is the fairest approach for all of our guests, and we're sorry that being informed about it on arrival detracted from your experience. Thank you again for your feedback.

Likte Friendly staff, the site runs well and they cater for most things. Clean and tidy facilities.

Likte ikke Road noise through the night, although they state no noise on site after a certain time they don’t enforce it and it was noisy for us but obviously that changes with the guests at the time you visit. If like us you like the sound of owls in the night and not people walking past all night and people talking it’s not the place. But we are old farts 😆

We're sorry to hear that the noise levels didn't quite meet your expectations. We take our quiet hours very seriously and have a structured quiet policy in place. Low noise begins at 9:15 pm, with complete silence expected by 10:45 pm. To help enforce this, our wardens carry out walk rounds at both the low noise and no noise times, and these rounds are fully recorded using body-worn cameras.

Having reviewed the recordings from the dates of your stay, I can confirm that both scheduled walk rounds were completed as planned. The footage indicates that guests were complying with our policy, with low noise being observed during the 9:15 pm round and no noise by the 10:45 pm round.

That said, we do appreciate that everyone has different expectations when it comes to what constitutes a peaceful evening. Whilst guests are permitted to quietly make their way back to their pitches before the no noise period begins, we understand that even normal movement and conversation may be more noticeable if you're hoping to enjoy complete tranquillity or listen to the local wildlife.
