Pootling around Penzance and trips to the beach go together very nicely indeed. If you're after a bit of both, check out Stream Valley Holiday Park, a family-run holiday park set in peaceful Cornwall countryside and close to the coast. This site is superbly well connected to the local area: the A30 is a few minutes' drive away, as is Penzance railway station (there's also a bus stop within walking distance). Green-fingered folk may appreciate the fact that stepping out to visit the gorgeous grounds of Trengwainton Garden will set you back a mere 20 minutes. Polite and well-trained pups are allowed here – they're sure to have a ball running up and down local dog-friendly beaches like the stretch of sand at Eastern Green (five minutes' drive/40 minutes' walk). Barbecues are also welcome here, but please help the friendly owners take care of their lawn by raising the hot bits well off the grass. A shop and bakery are within walking distance for any supplies you need to pick up. From a practical point of view, the well-maintained toilets, laundry room and washing-up point are all handy things to have around.

Goed onderhouden, rustige camping met vriendelijk personeel en goede faciliteiten, op loopafstand van Penzance. Schone omgeving en vredige sfeer. Enkele gasten vonden faciliteiten beperkt (één douche per geslacht), plus de douchekosten en wisselvallige wifi. Sommige plaatsen zijn klein.

Ik was blij met Lovely small campsite in a very good location, close to all the attractions.

It was a little too quiet for us, as we felt worried about disturbing other guests. We’re not the type to go to bed at 9 p.m., so we felt we had to be extra quiet in the evenings.

If you’re looking for a small, peaceful and very quiet campsite, then this could be perfect for you.

Ik was blij met Quiet location and water on pitch

Ik was niet blij met Electric hook up didnt work, nobody at reception for five days, message not responded to. One shower with a dirty shower curtain that was payable, for the whole site. Two toilets and two basins for the whole site, light inside shower didnt work. WiFi didnt work, showers and toilets not cleaned properly. Payable washing machine with only half of the programmes working, payable tumble dryer that took an hour to dry one load of washing. Pitch was next to waste pit which stank and attracted insects resulting in me being bitten dozens of times.

Ik was blij met Quiet pitch, nice to be walking distance from Penzance town centre, we walked in twice. The pitch was level and the campsite was very small, which was lovely. Communication was excellent, with a text letting me know the gate code, pitch number and wifi code. Connor was very polite and helpful over text.

Ik was niet blij met There was a lot of litter around our pitch, the toilets ran out of loo roll, the shower was £1 and went from scalding hot to freezing cold - I was super annoyed about that. The wifi didn't work even though we text to ask about it....tbh I don't really care about having wifi, but it had been advertised so I was expecting it to work. There was an office but it was unmanned the whole time we were there, so we couldn't speak to anyone about the general state of the campsite. I know we could have text but I wanted to speak to someone.

Ik was blij met Quietness.
Good location

Ik was niet blij met Only one working toilet in ladies as the other blocked and no-one on site to sort out. Only 1 shower and had to pay £1 - was unaware of this but may have missed it in the write up
Mens toilets - only 1 toilet and 1 urinal and 1 shower.
Not enough for the number of people
on site.
No working wifi, phone signal very poor

Ik was blij met Location was easy to get to.
Was welcomed by “babysitters of site”
We did have to call to find out what pitch we were located at

Ik was niet blij met Only dislike was the company was loud across camp. Started playing music at 8pm. We came there for peace. The camp with music was approached and asked to turn music off which was appreciated by most in the area.

Ik was blij met Good location. Short walk to the local shops and bakery. Short drive to Penzance, Land's End etc. Well kept pitches, toilets and showers clean. The price of the stay was very reasonable. Kids have not stopped talking about it. WiFi included which was a bonus.

Ik was blij met Decent pitch size. Ok facilities including a freezer for ice packs (wish I had known about this before hand). Close to local shop and to the town of Penzance. Owners have a code for the gate and a pitch number via text. Reception was not manned, but they answered phone right away and were helpful when we needed help.

Ik was niet blij met Guests repeatedly tied the (usually combination locked) gate open using a bungie cord that had been left there, which was not ideal as our pitch, where our young children were playing was by the gate. At one point a stranger wondered in and looked around. Wifi was poor, but this was not a big issue as only a short stay. Found some dog poo on our pitch.

Ik was blij met Very small so little noise

Ik was niet blij met Pitches aren't clearly marked which led to people setting up their second tent, chairs and cooking equipment on top of our tent. It felt dangerous and more like being crammed in at a music festival. No hand soap in the toilets for the entire stay and no one on site to speak to about issues, phone wasn't responded to.

If you're potty about plants then Cornwall's the place to be. The area around Penzance is home to 16th-century Trengwainton Garden (20 minutes' walk), semi-wild Trewidden Garden (10 minutes' drive) and the artsy exhibits on show at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes). (Even if the names all look a bit similar, no two are alike.) Further afield, the ever-popular Eden Project (an hour) is also within reach. In days gone by Cornwall was a busy industrial landscape where the menfolk would leave home at the crack of dawn, pasty in hand, and head out in search of copper and tin. If you're curious about delving into the underground world of 18th-century mining, check out Geevor Tin Mine (15 minutes) and take tours of its 200-year-old tunnels. Back at surface level, you'll likely want to start thinking about heading to the coast (this is Cornwall, after all). St Ives (20 minutes) is the place for foodies and art fans, who flock to its Tate gallery and top-rated quayside restaurants. Mousehole (15 minutes), meanwhile, is a well-preserved fishing port characterised by its gorgeous granite cottages.
