Thurston Manor offre un soggiorno piacevole con strutture generalmente pulite e ben tenute, apprezzate per il buon rapporto qualità-prezzo. La posizione è comoda, vicina alla A1 e Dunbar, con servizi in loco come piscina e ristorante. Molti lodano la pulizia e l'atmosfera amichevole, ma alcuni notano aspetti datati e rumori occasionali. Consigliato, con ritorno previsto.

Mi è piaciuto Location. We booked because it was handy for Berwick and Edinburgh and quick to get on the A1 for home.
Bathrooms with big showers and toilet in the same room. I wasn't travelling with my kids but if I had of been that would have been a massive plus.
We didn't go in the clubhouse/bar/swimming pool etc
Non mi è piaciuto We disliked the violent fight that broke out amongst several people that the security guards couldn't handle. We disliked that the police had to be called and were in the middle of the touring pitches arresting people and diffusing the situation until 2am. We disliked the fact that the management didn't check in with us at all to see if we were OK or follow up with any emails which makes me think perhaps its commonplace and we should have expected our night to be ruined. We disliked that when we arrived at 6:40pm (with check in advertised as until 7pm) we couldn't get hold of anyone on the out of hours security phone number we were told to ring.

Non mi è piaciuto Clientele and lack of care or concern by management despite police presence required two plots away until 2am.
Ok so the site couldn’t control the violent behaviour and language of two families adjacent to us. However they didn’t check on us at all. I tried reception at 9am and it was shut. We went out for the day and had no idea what we would face on our return. Happily the people who had been arrested had subsequently moved the caravan and campervan and it was quiet the 2nd night.

Non mi è piaciuto 18th aug-22nd aug 2025. Nothing like advertised.our fully serviced pitch once set up awning was over manhole and the smell was horrendous on warm day . Toilets/showers were dated and as days went by faeces were in shower and on toilet seat. Children were just wandering in and out toilets. We left day early due to a horrendous evening different parts of the touring site people fighting both men and women security staff were there but it escalated quickly and left to long to call police. A man firstly was fighting swearing then row in front arguing then there was someone with axe/knife apparently smashing a motorhome then a woman screaming/swearing went on for over hr . Absolutely disgusting we wanted to leave that night but we left 6am on the 21st . I emailed Thurston manor and still waiting on response. I have never experienced anything like it .

We stayed for one night while touring in our campervan.
We used shower facilities while there. They have family shower rooms which were really good. They have 2 showers in cubicle with a sink and seperate toilet all in same lockable room. So was ideal for a solo parent with 2 children.
Toilet areas were also clean and decent. The men's had toilets cubicles, also shower cubicles and cubicles with basins in to wash and shave, which I thought was a good idea.
I used the elson and grey water facilities while they and also washing up area. All were clean and tidy.
We didn't use any other facilities whiles there so can't comment on food, on site shop bar areas. I did notice they do have a washing/drying machine area aswell in the shower block.
All round a lovely set up and would definitely recommend and use again. We paid £24 for a camper/motor home gravel standing without electric hookup as we have solar and batteries.
Can't fault the price at all and would definitely recommend. 5 star from us.

Mi è piaciuto All of it. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, clean and well maintained grounds. The leisure centre is brilliant and the food great. The shop was well stocked with everything you could need. It has a good location to visit places like Dunbar and Foxlake.

No chance of a lie in (bear in mind,I'm supposed to be resting & relaxing on holiday !) when there's a staff member buzzing around my caravan with a petrol trimmer at 9am !!!
Bear in mind this is NOT an adults only site (I recognise that human disrespect and inconsiderate behaviour can be without the owners & their staffs control at times) but this site clearly lends itself to a high percentage clientele
of the lower echelons of the touring community who always appear to have the obligatory pair of fighting dogs in tow...and as for the kids that are allowed to run riot on their bikes after dark,don't get me started !
