What customers say

Mór, glan an campa le hurláin fairsing. Lónnaíonn linn snámha, bialann, siopa, páirc imeartha. Cairdiúil na foirne. Leagann go leor béim ar theaglaigh. Roinnt míchompord le seomraí folctha, torann, glanadh. WiFi, hurláin le feabhsú.

Liked Friendly and welcoming staff on check in who have clear directions to touring pitch. Great wooden play park for kids of all ages. Small arcade and swimming pool.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Beautifully kept spacious site. Appreciated the restaurant and bar facilities. Toilets and showers all good.

Disliked Site was largely peaceful but there were some odd characters about, blokes driving round and round the touring area in cars for no apparent reason and people apparently moving appliances from one caravan to another. We've never seen this at any other site. It went on for hours both in the evening and the next morning and was quite unsettling.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked This site has well kept grounds, the staff are regularly doing rounds checking the site and litter picking if needed. The security are frequently seen, so it feels safe especially if you have little ones. The play area looks to be very new and has plenty to offer for different ages. We didn't get to see or use the pool. We had lovely weather so had to be outside in it. The venue staff who ran the entertainment including Jack had plenty of smiles and really engaged with the children. The adult entertainment was ran well also, plenty of laughs and smiles all round. The food in the main bar was fairly priced and enough selection, plenty to offer drinks wise too.

Disliked It would be handy if they had a cleaning rota outside the toilet blocks so you knew when to avoid it, trying to take little ones when there is a wet floor isn't fun. All kept nice a clean tho, well done!

Thurston Manor tents non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Facilities were plentiful and clean plus the shower had great pressure and was hot.
Got to enjoy a sea view.
Definitely a great spot for families but was also quiet enough that I got two great nights sleep and was an easy location to get to Edinburgh from.

Disliked Parking area is separate from tent area

Local attractions

You won’t find yourselves thirsting for action at Thurston Manor; there are lots of inspiring places to visit in East Lothian, Berwickshire and beyond. Peer at the puffins and gawk at the gannets at the Scottish Seabird Centre - you can zoom in on the nesting colonies on the islands (including Bass Rock, home to a gobsmacking 150,000 gannets) using the Centre’s interactive live cameras, or zoom off on a boat trip to see them in the flesh/feathers, along with grey seals and dolphins if you’re lucky. For more fresh air fun, there are clifftop walks, castle ruins, picnicking and pony trekking across the grassland, woods and salt marshes at John Muir Country Park in nearby Dunbar. Or you could go for a clamber around Tantallon Castle, a majestic fourteenth century stronghold in a photogenic location atop the cliffs overlooking the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock. Not to mention the magnificent golf courses, fishing, horse riding, yachting and water sports in the surrounding area. Whisky lovers will definitely want to make a pilgrimage to the nearby Glenkinchie Distillery, which has an excellent visitor centre and guided tours as well as tastings (and a discount in the shop is included in the very reasonable entrance fee). Last but not least, the brilliant and bonny city of Edinburgh is only 25 miles away.....
