Facilities are clean, modern and accessible

Site was quiet and relaxing

Staff are welcoming and so helpful, especially Paul who was so kind to help us out with some additional tent pegs

Highly recommend and will definitely be back !!

Mi è piaciuto Location, scenery, staff, lots of space, 6pm check out on departure day. The smell of the cedar from the toilet block. Everywhere kept clean

Non mi è piaciuto Whilst the toilet/shower block looks very nice it just isn’t very functional, a few tweaks would make it so much better, more space in shower to hang stuff, brighter lighting it’s far too dark and buns next to washing up sinks

Mi è piaciuto Loads of space to pitch, a choice of many fields. Great dog walking all around. We had a lovely view and saw some birds of prey. A peaceful atmosphere despite it being a busy bank holiday weekend. The facilities are top notch and extremely clean at all times. Staff were easy to find if needed and were friendly. We loved it here and can’t wait to return. What a great site and value for money.

Non mi è piaciuto Lovely modern site shame not quiet tranquil site we were looking for loud music playing until 2 am Friday,Saturday and throughout the day, the music started again on Sunday morning at this point we decided to pack up early and go home. Which is a shame as we looking for somewhere close to home for a weekend retreat. We managed to get off site after being verbally abused by the group of individuals who confronted me after they thought I’d complained and their Pitbull dog which wandered around with no lead and looked like it wanted to eat me for dinner. I’ve camped all over Europe never had this happen before.

Dal gestore: We are extremely sorry that you experienced this during your stay with us, and we completely appreciate the discomfort and unease that the behaviour of this group caused you and other guests.

Our team did speak to the group on numerous occasions regarding their behaviour. I also personally telephoned them and made it very clear that their behaviour was completely unacceptable, would not be tolerated at Lyndon Top, and that they were required to leave the site immediately.

Unfortunately, this was met with a considerable amount of verbal abuse, and the situation escalated to the point where one of our wardens was threatened. At that stage, we felt it would have been irresponsible to put our staff or other guests at further risk by attempting to physically confront the group ourselves. We therefore contacted the police and asked for their assistance in removing them from the site. Unfortunately, although we were told that the police would attend, the incident was categorised as a non-emergency and, despite our request for assistance, they did not attend.

We completely understand that, from your perspective, it may have appeared that more could have been done sooner. Please be assured that behind the scenes we were doing everything we reasonably and safely could to resolve the situation. These are absolutely not the sort of individuals or behaviour that we want at Lyndon Top, and it was incredibly frustrating for us that we were unable to bring the situation to an end as quickly as we wanted to.

We have very clear rules regarding noise, dogs being kept on leads and respectful behaviour towards other guests. We would just like to clarify one point from the review regarding the dog. The dog in question was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, not a Pit Bull Terrier. Pit Bull Terriers are a prohibited breed and would of course not knowingly be permitted on site. That said, regardless of breed, the dog should have been kept under proper control and on a lead at all times, and we fully appreciate how intimidating the situation must have felt.

Unfortunately, while we can enforce our rules when problems arise, we have no way of knowing beforehand that a particular booking is going to behave in this way.

We are particularly sorry that you felt uncomfortable enough to cut your weekend short. Lyndon Top is intended to be a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, so we fully appreciate how disappointing this must have been when that was exactly what you had come for.

We sincerely hope this isolated incident hasn’t put you off visiting us again, as it certainly isn't representative of the atmosphere we normally have on site.

We would also be extremely grateful if you would consider reconsidering the one-star rating of the site. We completely understand your frustration with what happened, but sadly this was an exceptional situation caused by the behaviour of one group, which we did everything reasonably within our power to address. We would hate for their behaviour to leave you with the impression that this is reflective of Lyndon Top as a whole.

Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for what happened during your stay, and we very much hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back under much happier circumstances.

Mi è piaciuto Location is great and lots of investment clearly been made.

Non mi è piaciuto The bathroom block is incredibly nice but is quite impractical, no proper sinks for shaving / cleaning teeth. The showers are lovely and warm with rain heads but nowhere to put your stuff while showering. Clearly easy fixes and likely will improve over time.
