Bowland Escapes

A aimé What a fantastic place. The greeting was warm and site is amazing. The facilities are the best I’ve seen for a long time with wet room shower facilities which are clean and modern. The shop has the basics you need if you forget something. The site itself is really good value for money. Walks around the woods are interesting and a great place for kids to explore. A great surprise was coming across the,,,!
I would definitely recommend and come back.

A aimé The setting, cleanliness and layout of Bowland escapes were excellent. Myself and son camped out but would also come back with family in the other accommodation.

A aimé Location, cleanliness of facilities, uniqueness of Iron Age roundhouse. Lovely campsite which felt safe for kids. Staff were friendly and helpful.

N'a pas aimé A couple more signs would help in finding the park which was quite a bit further on than the Sat nav directions.

A aimé Pods were a good size with electric and although you can’t park alongside, they are a two minute walk at most so not overly impactful. Nice little play area for children and although we didn’t have time to explore, you are able to visit the Boar Park.

N'a pas aimé Upon arrival the pod immediately opposite us (a group of 3 youngish adults) was playing club music. As it was directly opposite, this was really jarring. We also then found that there was a wasps nest in the roof of the pod. To their credit the site team did come out and move us to another pod (which was also thankfully slightly quieter as the planting absorbed more of the noise). But perhaps given the wasps were a known issue with that pod, and the fact that we were a family with young children as opposed to 3 young adults, perhaps we should have been in the other pod from the off. The faff of moving pods and being forced to listen to tinny music whilst tipping it down did unfortunately cut into our time and enjoyment given we were only there for one night as a stop over.

A aimé Beautiful, quiet, remote, off grid setting. Reception very helpful. Spotlessly clean

N'a pas aimé Only 2 combined shower/toilets for the camping field. Not able to drive onto the camping field to unload/load equipment. Luckily weather was dry.

A aimé Loved the camp site, toilets were clean, shower was clean- friendly staff & easy to get there.
Fire pit was a huge success & great added extra.
Then we got free entry to the wild boar park!! It was Great

N'a pas aimé The play area was brilliant but the wood was falling apart & very rickety. Some of the slats fell off whilst kids were playing.

A aimé We’ve just had our first 2 night stay and we absolutely loved it! The pitch sizes were great, the toilet/shower facilities were immaculate and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Wild Boar park was a minutes walk away and my boys (3 and 4) absolutely loved it! There was a smaller park on the camp site also, as well as little woodland walks, which kept them well entertained throughout the weekend. We will definitely be returning soon!
