The owner was great, and very helpful.

Bolam Lake Country Park is lovely and great for walks and spotting wildlife - there is a great cafe too.

We enjoy meeting the guests who stay with us and we are always available to help or offer advice on places to visit, great pubs and cafes etc.

A aimé Just fantastic, it’s a beautiful little site in a great location, my daughter and I have been several times and love every single minute of our time there.
You overlook wonderful fields that are filled with horses, a particular favourite of my daughter, the facilities are just what’s needed for a semi wild site like this with toilets and a washing up station provided.
You have food over the road at Bolam lake where you can have a wonderful walk around the lake.
But by far the best thing about the site are your hosts Dave and Jill. They are kind and genuine and love to talk to every one of the campers.
They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is welcome and has everything they need for a great stay. This reflects in the fact that they have such good repeat custom.
This is a true gem of a site. Can’t wait to come back!

We have set up our caravan and bell tent so that guests can stay with us who just fancy an off grid camping trip in Northumbrian countryside without the hassle of setting up a tent - we are pleased that you had everything you needed during your stay.

A aimé As always a wonderful stay at Bolam. David and Jill always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome.
1st time not taken my own tent and I always over pack but didn’t need to as they have well stocked the bell tent with everything you might need (apart from a stove and bedding which is to be expected).
Would highly recommend hiring their bell if you’re new to camping.
Will see yous again next time (as always).

A aimé Beautiful setting and very friendly. Very easy to get to from Newcastle but feels like you’re a million miles from the city.

There are lots of lovely walks nearby and great places to visit too.

Bolam Lake Country Park is great for walks, fishing, paddle boarding etc and it has a lovely coffee shop too.

A aimé The owners David and Jill were lovely, helpful and attentive. Everything was to hand in the caravan even a spare quilt to keep cosy on a night-time. Loved how the horses were literally in front of us, cosy firepit and a bbq. Lovely little cafe over the road and Bolam lake.

A aimé Liked the site a lot and great welcome from the site owner David. Let us check in early as we were close. Toilets etc fine. Had a nice walk round the lake and a more adventurous one later.

N'a pas aimé Nothing really but anyone with sensitive fridge may have a problem getting totally level without ramps.

Both camping fields are relatively flat but ramps may be a good idea depending on which area you choose to pitch up.

We enjoy meeting the great people who stay with us. As a Wanderlust site we offer simple camping in a beautiful part of Northumberland and our aim is to offer spacious pitches and great, clean facilities.

We appreciate and understand your comments about our portaloos as planning restrictions do not allow us to build any permanent facilities but we do try to make sure that they are always clean and well presented.
