Porlock Vale Campsite

Me gustó: Absolutely loved this site for its views and for how quiet it was. I watched the sunset colours keep changing over the sea from my bed - stunningly beautiful and a priceless experience! I watched deer grazing in the same field below me.
The site has everything you need in terms of loos, hot showers and washing up areas. Dawn was extremely kind and welcoming, she keeps a great eye on the campsite.

No me gustó: Make sure you follow Dawns directions, the sat nav will take you up a very narrow road. Head to the village instead of the left turn it asks for, you’ll see it signposted at that point to the village. 😅

Me gustó: Beautiful site at Porlock Vale campsite. Wonderful views, very peaceful. The owner Dawn and her two gorgeous dogs couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Great instructions on how to use the showers and toilets. Great to be off grid and little mobile signal.

Me gustó: What an absolute gem of a place, stunning location,gorgeous views and Dawn the host (and her dogs Rosie & Mia) were so friendly and welcoming. This has become our new favourite place to camp, can't fault a single thing, will be back as often as we can!

Me gustó: Porlock Vale is a beautiful site, with stunning views. It was quiet and well maintained. The showers and toilets were very clean and there was an area to wash up and recycle/throw away rubbish. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner Dawn, who told me a little bit about the Exmoor Pony Project that she founded+runs. If you purchase bottled water/firewood at the campsite all proceeds go towards this not for profit organisation. Would highly recommend staying at this site if you're in the area!

Me gustó: As soon as we arrived we knew this stay would be special. The views in any direction are so beautiful. We found a spot overlooking the valley that seemed so private and just for us. The campsite is so quiet, bar the sheep, cows, peacocks, owls etc, creating a peaceful, nature filled soundscape like no other. Lots of space to feel on your own and away from other campers. It is on a hill but has some flatter spots available.The facilities were clean and tidy. Showers warm with lots of space to manoeuvre for the taller people. Drinking water onsite makes the perfect cup of tea. No bottled water needed at all! Plus Dawn, the owner is absolutely lovely, as is her loyal companion Mia, the NZ sheepdog. The site is no longer a pop up, but a fully fledged campsite open May to Sept as well! The roads in are small, but if you come via Luccombe there are good passing places. Would recommend the walk to Selworthy Tearooms too, only 3k, but some decent uphill moments along the way!

Me gustó: Beautiful and tranquil location. Plenty of space and clean facilities. Owner was extremely attentive. Being away from the usual online connected world was a real bonus.

Me gustó: The location is stunning and has great access to loads of walking routes. The facilities are exactly what you need and Dawn is very welcoming and offers good advice in where to go in the local area. I highly recommend Horner Tea Gardens for a spot of lunch.

Me gustó: We enjoyed our stay at the Porlock Vale Campsite! The grass was well kept, the shower and bathrooms were very clean, and it was nice to have the washing up area. We met Dawn in the morning and she was lovely! A great spot to stay for exploring in Exmoor.
