Me gustó Friendly site, well maintained with all basic facilities. I had a hard standing pitch which was level and plenty of space for outdoor chairs. If you’re looking for a base from which to drive and explore it’s great. Nothing in close proximity though aside from pub.

No me gustó Stuck in a corner with a wall in front next to dog walking area, with our dogs on leads all the time as requested by the owner 3 dogs approached us at our van.

Little disappointment at the owner check out was 11am which we started packing up at 10am but due to my wife just finishing chemotherapy she got tried quick, left myself to finish packing it was 11.08am when we was asked how long are we going to be, maybe if asked why we was running behind instead of making us feel uncomfortable.

I don’t suppose at any given point during your stay, you gave any consideration to actually looking above the said “wall” you mention (yes folks, it’s a fact that there are several thousand miles of drystone walls in this area, something the Dales are rather famed for I believe..) and you would have been met with the most fabulous long distance views that included the rather famous Pen-y-ghent Peak….

I’m at a total loss with the next bit about 3 dogs…no idea what the point is especially as we have a 2 dogs max limit 🤔 go figure, as they say.

The final paragraph kind of really annoyed me and perhaps just for some perspective on check out time…It’s 11.00 am and all information says this both pre stay and upon arrival so what’s the problem here? At around 11.15am after everyone else had departed, I approached you and asked “Will you be long as I have to access the field next to this pitch with a tractor and trailer?” Your response was “no, 5 or 10 minutes”. You conveniently forgot that fact didn’t you…

I am unable to comprehend (and you have raised the point not me) why, when your wife had undergone chemotherapy were you even expecting her to pack up which made her tired? That’s down to your actions sir, and yours alone, please don’t try to blame someone else!

All in all, a pretty low blow using someone’s illness as an excuse to give a negative review.

I do however wish your good lady a speedy and successful recovery.

Me gustó The whole campsite was amazing, from the cleanliness throughout, the shower block was spotless. To the very generous size pitches, and overall ambience of our stay
Good walking treks available from the local 'Plough Inn' and the food delicious....what's not to like.

Me gustó Really lovely lodge with absolutely everything you need, well thought through. A perfect base for Dales walking and exploring north Yorkshire.

Me gustó Lovely site. Especially like the fact it is smaller and only a few minutes walk from a fantastic pub, The Plough. We had a wonderful meal there highly recommend it. The toilet and shower were very clean and the dedicated Dog field is a very welcome bonus.

Me gustó It is a lovely campsite tucked away off the main road. I love that its a smaller campsite and the amenities are close by. Bathroom/shower very clean and looked after. Dishnwashing area is available as well as a place to dump waste water, etc.
We used a hardstanding electric pitch and it had a grassy area attached. Everything worked well including our wifi. Staff are very nice and there is a pub around the corner.

Me gustó A fantastic Adult only campsite, perfect if you want to switch off and relax , greeted at the gate by the owner who gave us a tour of the site and it's facilities with a lovely cheerful manner . Situated in the village of Wigglesworth, literally a two minute walk to the local country pub , what's not to like 😀🍻.

Me gustó This site had some lovely hard standings surrounded by gardens. The toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained. There is a recycling point for rubbish and a handy metal waste bin for used bbq charcoal. There is a great pub with excellent food 2 minutes walk away and a dedicated dog walking area.

No me gustó Didn't really get a welcome from the host, just straight into a list of rules on what can and can't be done on site. There are lots of signs with more rules written in blunt language, very little in the way of please or thank you. There is a hard standing close to the road which we wouldn't have liked. Also got a story of his horses being attacked by dogs twice.

We try very hard to maintain the site this way for all our guests to enjoy.

It appears from your “disliked” comments that you have failed to grasp the fact that my early introduction to guests with a dog of how we do require guests to conduct themselves is the whole “raison d’etre” and the absolute key as to why you found the site so lovely!

As for our requirement that dogs are kept under control at all times. Given there has been some serious problems with out of control dogs this year (which incidentally now you ask..also included a German Shepherd charging to attack the site owner for feeding her horses, that was only prevented from doing so as it was luckily tied up to a table which scattered breakfast cups, plates and contents everywhere) …so we impress upon each guest with dogs the need to respect our animals and other guests.

I’m certain you will wholly agree at the end of the day, it’s only right that all guests are afforded a safe and peaceful stay on the site.

Having looked at your reservation, I did note you did not pay for a dog!

What I will say to any future guests is, we work incredibly hard to ensure the site is maintained to a high standard and your stay is as peaceful as possible.

Me gustó Small, quiet site with lovely views. Lovely clean facilities and a good size pitch (our motorhome is 6.5 metres long). The dog walking field is really secure enabling us to let our dogs have a great game with a ball.
