The lodge
Sunny day at the site
10 minutes from the pennine bridleway

  • Spacious dog-friendly site with spectacular views over the Pennine Way
  • Within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland
  • Dog exercise area; two minutes' walk from the local pub
Thinking of visiting the Yorkshire Dales National Park? Or maybe the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? How about both? Willowbeck Farm, on the edge of the little North Yorkshire village of Wigglesworth, is neatly located between the two, putting guests within easy reach of lots of scenic areas for walks, bike trails and horse riding. (Need tips on the top spots? Try the spectacular surrounds of Malham Cove or the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, both around half an hour’s drive away). Town attractions and amenities are handily nearby too: you’re five miles from the market town of Settle (where there’s also a supermarket if you don’t happen to be passing by on a market day) and around a half-hour drive from Skipton and Clitheroe for castle visits and plenty of independent shops to poke around in. Back at base, you’ll be staying on a small, quiet and well-maintained adults-only site with smart toilet and shower facilities and a dog exercise area. If you fancy heading out for a meal or a drink, there are a couple of country inns nearby, with the very popular Plough Inn roughly two minutes' walk from site. Please be mindful that this is a rural site and the digital TV signal is very weak. Although there's no wifi here, there's usually great 5G mobile data coverage on site.

What customers say

Charming, tranquil adults-only site in scenic countryside. Spotless facilities, generous pitches, and welcoming owners. Handy to The Plough Inn for great tucker. Well-kept with a doggy run. Good base for Yorkshire Dales. Some road hum and fewer loos when chockers.

Liked Lovely site. Especially like the fact it is smaller and only a few minutes walk from a fantastic pub, The Plough. We had a wonderful meal there highly recommend it. The toilet and shower were very clean and the dedicated Dog field is a very welcome bonus.

Liked It is a lovely campsite tucked away off the main road. I love that its a smaller campsite and the amenities are close by. Bathroom/shower very clean and looked after. Dishnwashing area is available as well as a place to dump waste water, etc.
We used a hardstanding electric pitch and it had a grassy area attached. Everything worked well including our wifi. Staff are very nice and there is a pub around the corner.

Liked A fantastic Adult only campsite, perfect if you want to switch off and relax , greeted at the gate by the owner who gave us a tour of the site and it's facilities with a lovely cheerful manner . Situated in the village of Wigglesworth, literally a two minute walk to the local country pub , what's not to like 😀🍻.

Liked This site had some lovely hard standings surrounded by gardens. The toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained. There is a recycling point for rubbish and a handy metal waste bin for used bbq charcoal. There is a great pub with excellent food 2 minutes walk away and a dedicated dog walking area.

Disliked Didn't really get a welcome from the host, just straight into a list of rules on what can and can't be done on site. There are lots of signs with more rules written in blunt language, very little in the way of please or thank you. There is a hard standing close to the road which we wouldn't have liked. Also got a story of his horses being attacked by dogs twice.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you found the site settings were lovely and our toilets and showers clean and well maintained.

We try very hard to maintain the site this way for all our guests to enjoy.

It appears from your “disliked” comments that you have failed to grasp the fact that my early introduction to guests with a dog of how we do require guests to conduct themselves is the whole “raison d’etre” and the absolute key as to why you found the site so lovely!

As for our requirement that dogs are kept under control at all times. Given there has been some serious problems with out of control dogs this year (which incidentally now you ask..also included a German Shepherd charging to attack the site owner for feeding her horses, that was only prevented from doing so as it was luckily tied up to a table which scattered breakfast cups, plates and contents everywhere) …so we impress upon each guest with dogs the need to respect our animals and other guests.

I’m certain you will wholly agree at the end of the day, it’s only right that all guests are afforded a safe and peaceful stay on the site.

Having looked at your reservation, I did note you did not pay for a dog!

What I will say to any future guests is, we work incredibly hard to ensure the site is maintained to a high standard and your stay is as peaceful as possible.

Small, quiet site with lovely views.…

Liked Small, quiet site with lovely views. Lovely clean facilities and a good size pitch (our motorhome is 6.5 metres long). The dog walking field is really secure enabling us to let our dogs have a great game with a ball.
