Sutton Hoo Holidays Campsite

Me gustó: We've been here before. The site is easy to access, spacious and convenient for walking, cycling and local sightseeing. Many pitches are screened with natural foliage, but those on the east side suffer a little from adjacent road noise. The setting is on a working farm, which suits us. The facilities are clean though basic (upgrade probably due). There is no visible warden presence, no barriers, just a pleasing open field with electricity, water and drains. We did not use the WiFi.

No me gustó: Toilet paper dispenser, one sheet at a time, and sometimes jammed. Fortunately, old-fashioned toilet rolls are placed on the window ledge ...

Me gustó: Just a small number of Pitches and divided up with low hedges. Family room had a bath! Kettle, fridge/freezers and socket provided for those not using EHU. Easy access to Sutton Hoo which as you could then walk into meant free hot drink.

No me gustó: Although liked the hedges, they were hawthorn, so when pruned bits of twigs with thorns lay about the grass, not good with bare feet.

Me gustó: Wildlife, dog friendly, countryside walks, riverside walk into Woodbridge

No me gustó: Some road noise although able to zone out from this. Dirty mop bucket left in showers

Beautiful riverside and country walks on doorstep and into Woodbridge

Good, clean facilities including a family bathroom with bath!!

Close to National Trust Museum and exhibitions
Walkable to nearest pub/restaurant
Plenty of hot water
Good wi-fi 26Mb/sec

No me gustó: No grey water drop on site
Noisy, close to road land working poultry farm operations
Very small shower cubicle
Not thermostatic showers

Del administrador: Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you were disturbed by our farm traffic. We do state on the website that it is a working farm so there will be some traffic noise. There is a grey waste water drain on each pitch which is on the pitch layout emailed to you prior to your arrival, I am sorry you didn't see that. As to the showers, they are at a set temperature as a health and safety issue so that no one can scald themselves. If you had mentioned any of these issues when I called round to see you I would have done my best to address them , however, you said everything was OK and you were having a lovely time, so I wasn't a where you were disappointed. My apologies.

Me gustó: This site is so access to reach, the instructions from the site owners was very comprehensive. At just a 10 minute walk to Sutton Hoo, so convenient to visit this historical site.
Each pitch is well laid out, with a hedge between pitches, and all a very good size. Easy access to electricity, fresh and waste water.
the toilet and showers were kept clean and tidy, each sex had 2 x toilets and 2 x showers, plus 2 cubicles that are both male and female.

No me gustó: The showers curtain did look a little tired and the rack for your shower gel and shampoo was put at a rather high level, my husband managed to hit his head on it!

Me gustó: Fantastic location for visiting Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge both of which should not be missed. Make sure you take the guided walk around the burial mounds and in Woodbridge don’t miss the boat reconstruction and The Woodyard pizzas next door. All in all a great stay owners very friendly facilities very good. We actually booked an extra day.

No me gustó: Wi-fi is weak. Nothing to do with the site but whilst the bus will take you into Woodbridge the most convenient time to come back mid afternoon only operates in school holidays. We got bus to Melton then had to walk the remaining but that worked ok

Me gustó: Perfect campsite for young children. The pitches are spacious and flat, with privacy hedges, with a playground in the middle visible from all plots. The facilities are really clean and well maintained. We arranged to borrow a fire pit which was great quality and bought some logs, it was easy to sort this on the day. The owners even came around in the morning and checked we had everything we needed. We've recommended to several friends already. This was our three year olds first camping trip and this site was exactly what we were hoping for.
