City strolls or countryside wanders – which one might you fancy while on your Worcestershire break? If the answer is ‘a bit of both, actually’ then you’ll likely find Ketch Caravan Park a most convenient spot indeed. This peaceful adults-only park with spacious pitches is on the banks of the River Severn, around two miles from Worcester city centre. A riverside footpath runs from the site to the city’s shops and attractions; alternatively you can drive it in five minutes or so. As well as providing pleasant strolls into town, the river also supplies a pretty backdrop for the site, with the Malvern Hills visible in the distance (another good place for lovely long stroll, of course). Guests can go fishing in the river directly from the site too. Getting in, out and around to local attractions is very straightforward from here: the park is handily placed close to the A4440 and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5. That makes it both a nifty stopover point on a longer motorway journey and a good place to settle for rural rambles (with a dog, if you’ve got one you’d like to bring along on holiday) and days out visiting the likes of Tewkesbury, Snowshill Manor and Evesham. Barbecues are allowed on site, and there’s a rather handy supermarket just outside the site for supplies if you don’t fancy the trip to town for dinner. As for the site’s own facilities, they include a modern amenities block with showers and toilets including a family room and wet room, a laundry room and a washing-up area. There is also a chemical disposal point on site.

Me gustó River Bank location

No me gustó Hard to find the entrance. Got stuck in Aldi car park. Very poor layout with single toilet block at higher level and only 1 ramp to get there. Only 1 chemical toilet emptying point a long way from touring pitches. A lack of facilities, male 2 toilets, 3 urinals, and 2 showers for at least 20 tourers. No WiFi and not good aerial reception. The upper layer has multiple concrete bases for static vans that aren't there with trip hazard iron tie down loops set in them. Constant road noise from bridge just above the site.

Del administrador: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed the riverside location. We work extremely hard to maintain high standards across the park, and given the level of care and investment that goes into our facilities and daily operations, it was disappointing to receive a 1‑star review.

We would like to address the points you have raised clearly and factually:

Entrance & Aldi car park
Our entrance is marked with large, prominent signage on the main road. Unfortunately, certain sat‑nav systems can direct first‑time visitors into the Aldi car park, which is outside our control.

Toilet block layout, ramp & steps
The facilities are located on the upper level due to the riverside touring area being prone to winter flooding. Access is provided via both a ramp and a set of steps, and a designated pathway leads directly from both routes to the toilet block. This pathway is kept clear at all times. As stated in our check‑in information, guests must use the marked pathways and should not walk across empty static bases.

Chemical waste disposal
With 22 touring pitches, one chemical disposal point is entirely appropriate and more than sufficient for the size of the park. Its position at the top of the site ensures safe drainage and compliance with environmental regulations.

Number of facilities
While the number of toilets and showers may appear limited, the majority of guests use the facilities within their own caravans or motorhomes. As a result, demand in the block remains low, and we have not experienced issues with queues or availability.

WiFi & aerial reception
We do not advertise WiFi on site. Aerial reception varies depending on individual equipment and weather conditions, and many guests receive a stable signal.

Upper level concrete bases & tie‑down loops
The concrete bases are prepared for new static units arriving throughout the season. Any exposed tie‑down loops are visible, and this section is not used for touring or pedestrian access.

Road noise
Due to the park’s proximity to the bridge and main road, some traffic noise can be heard at times. This is clearly stated in our site description, and many guests feel the peaceful riverside setting outweighs this.

Thank you again for your feedback. We remain committed to maintaining and improving the park, and we believe it is important to provide an accurate and balanced response for future guests.

Me gustó ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely wonderful — we will 100% return!

Ketch Caravan Park, Worcester

We had such a lovely stay at Ketch Caravan Park — from the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. We were warmly welcomed by Jim and Tanya, who were incredibly helpful and informative, sharing all the details we needed to make the most of our stay. They showed us straight to our pitch and gave us some great local advice — nothing was too much trouble.

The park itself we found peaceful and beautifully kept. We loved the wonderful riverside walk that takes you right into the local town — such a lovely start or end to the day. Even though it’s conveniently close to roads, it still felt peaceful and caused us no bother.

The facilities were spotlessly clean and tidy every single time we used them, no matter what time of day. Jim and Tanya were always around with a friendly smile each day, stopping to ask if everything was okay — the perfect balance of being helpful without being intrusive.

There’s a handy local shop just nearby and a Toby Carvery within easy reach too — everything you need for a relaxing break.

Wifi was no issue for us. We went to spend time with our friends

We would 100% return and would highly recommend Ketch Caravan Park to anyone looking for a friendly, peaceful, and well-run site near Worcester. Thank you Jim and Tanya for a fantastic stay! 💛

Me gustó Really easy to get to off the M5. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. The touring pitches are right by the riverside and have lovely views across to the Malvern Hills. The shower-toilet block was always very clean.
Great location with a 40 minute walk along the river into Worcester and theres the Yacht Club about 5 mins walk in the opposite direction for good food and drinks.
Aldi, B&M, The Harvester and Toby Carvery are a few minutes walk.
We will definitely return here, it’s so peaceful with large touring pitches.

No me gustó The main area where the static caravans used to be looks unloved but there are plans to develop this.

Del administrador: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re really pleased you found the site easy to access and enjoyed the peaceful riverside pitches, clean facilities, and the beautiful walk into Worcester. It’s great to hear you also made the most of the nearby Yacht Club and local amenities.

Regarding the area where the static caravans used to be, you’re absolutely right — at the moment it does look a little *unloved*. The recent spell of extreme hot weather has been particularly harsh on the grass, and despite regular care, large open areas have browned off much more than usual. This is something many parks and green spaces across the region are experiencing, and we’re waiting for cooler, wetter conditions so the ground can recover naturally.

As you mentioned, we are redeveloping this part of the park. This season we’ve already welcomed six new owners, and we’re gradually increasing the number of statics available for sale. The area is evolving week by week, and as more units arrive and landscaping progresses, it will become a much more attractive and welcoming part of the park.

We’re delighted you plan to return and look forward to welcoming you back for another peaceful stay by the river.

Me gustó Lovely staff and nice introduction to site upon arrival. Brilliant for walking into town either by road or riverside path. Great water pressure. A bit of road noise depending on wind direction, but generally a nice quiet site. Really close to local supermarket. Convenient as could park car in pitch.

No me gustó Only two female toilets. A metal ramp fitted for access from touring van area up to facilities, but this was noisy to use (we were not pitched near it, thankfully). Waste water and chemical waste had to be dragged up the ramp/hill or steps. Van pitch width seemed a little small compared to other sites we’ve visited. No WiFi

Lo recomendaría a mis amigos Lo visitaría de nuevo

Del administrador: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that our location worked well for you — it’s lovely to hear.

You’re right that we have two female toilets, and while that may seem limited, most of our guests now use the facilities in their own caravans or motorhomes, so we’ve never had any issues with queues or availability. If that ever changed, we’d certainly look at it.

The metal ramp you mentioned is there because our beautiful riverside pitches can flood during the winter months, so it’s the safest and most practical option. Since it was installed in April, we haven’t had any other comments about noise, but we always appreciate feedback and keep an eye on things.

With waste water and chemical disposal, on every site (unless fully serviced) guests are required to take their containers to a designated point, and ours is positioned to be as accessible as possible. We know it’s not the most glamorous part of camping, but we do try to make it straightforward.

All of our pitches are over 10 metres wide, which you'll find is much larger than the UK average.

And just to clarify — we don’t advertise WiFi on site, as we don’t currently provide it.

Thank you again for your comments and for staying with us. It’s a shame to hear you wouldn’t visit us again, but of course that’s entirely your choice and we respect that. We’re glad you stayed with us, and we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. If you ever decided to give us another try in the future, you’d be very welcome.

Me gustó The toilets are clean and the Toby Carvery Pub is next door to the site just a few minutes walk, which is dog friendly and the staff were golden. Even got our two Staffies a cooked sausage each from the chef.

No me gustó The site is not adult only, there are children cycling and running around and people have seasonal pitches there which is “family friendly” and there is a family room at the toilet block. The motor homes and caravans are so close and you dont have any privacy or peace. Directly in front of the few pitches is the public walk way, with people and children going past all day. The steps up to the toilet block are ugly steel, not at all nice to look at. Our 2 friendly dogs were kept on the lead the whole 3 day stay apart from when at the pitch, where they stayed and didn’t move from us. It was far too hot to keep a padded harness on them in the intense heat, which was worrying. A woman, who we learned lives in a seasonal pitches at the Ketch started Effing and Beeing at us because our one dog got up and barked (dogs nature and defences), but she didn’t do anything other than move forward a few feet and bark. The woman was yelling and separating at us shouting get your Effing dog on a lead, My dog is reactive. Other campers were watching most had spoken to us and fussed our dogs.

Within minutes the site owners ambushed us telling us to put our dogs on a lead. We explained the real situation and questioned the site owners if they could see our dogs, and they said no, because our friendly dogs were in the tent lying down. They didn’t stop to thi k who we wrk for or what our jobs are before ambushing us.

We told them, if a woman knows her dog isn’t good with other dogs why is she walking it around a public campsite. Dogs on the site were playing together happily. Our two dogs were on leads the whole time apart from when we were settled at our pitch, which is the only time we took the harnesses off. It was far too hot to leave a padded harnesses on a dog in that intense heat. It would have been cruel and we know our dogs.

The noise from the busy main road and motorway is horrible. It didn’t stop. We heard sirens for 3 days and noisy traffic.

The site is just off a busy main road, although the river is lovely but you do have to walk down to
It to see it.

It’s not like other pretty scenic relaxed campsites. It’s quite different from
Other campsites.
We did meet some nice locals, but that site is not for us. We left a day early.

Del administrador: Thank you for your review but we must address the serious inaccuracies in your account.

Our park rules — provided at check‑in and displayed clearly around the site — state that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, including whilst on your pitch. This rule applies to every guest without exception.

Before approaching you, our wardens spoke with several independent witnesses. Their statements were consistent: both of your dogs were off‑lead, ran towards another guest and her dogs (both on leads) while barking, and the guest asked you to put them back on leads. Witnesses also reported that she was met with foul language, and unfortunately the same behaviour occurred when our wardens approached you to remind you of the rules.

Your claim that you were “ambushed” is not accurate. Our wardens approached calmly, after confirming the situation with multiple witnesses, and were met with further abusive language. It was also brought to the wardens attention by witnesses that you had been drinking throughout the afternoon, which may have contributed to the escalation of the incident which took place at around 7.30pm in the evening.

We understand that owners trust their own dogs, but park rules exist to protect everyone — including people using the public footpath, guests with reactive dogs, and other pet owners. These rules are not optional, and they are enforced consistently.

We must also clarify several points raised in your review:

Our touring pitches are adults‑only.
At the time of your stay, there were no children on the seasonal pitches. Any children you saw cycling or walking past would have been using the public footpath, which runs alongside the site and is not part of our touring area.

Our family room is for the use of our guests with mobility issues who require additional space and facilities.

Pitch spacing is fully compliant.
Our touring pitches are over 10 metres wide, and we adhere strictly to all legal spacing requirements. The suggestion that units are “too close together” does not reflect the actual layout or regulations we follow.

Regarding the site layout, public footpath and proximity to the main road: all of these features are clearly stated in our site description. Many guests appreciate the riverside setting and convenient access to Worcester, as reflected in the majority of recent reviews.

We feel this review has been written because you were asked to put your dogs on a lead after breaking the rules. It is also important to provide an accurate and factual account of the events for future guests.

Me gustó Clean basic pitch with nice views of the River, the site is going through a refurbishment so will only get better. The wardens are very friendly and have a lot of local knowledge.

No me gustó Can't blame the site but there is road noise from the nearby dual carriageway.

Lo recomendaría a mis amigos Lo visitaría de nuevo

Del administrador: Here’s a polished, friendly reply you can post directly under that review. It fits perfectly with the tone of your other responses and acknowledges the refurbishment while keeping things positive:

---

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review — we’re really glad you enjoyed the clean pitch, riverside views and found us friendly and helpful.

You’re absolutely right that the site is going through a refurbishment. We’ve already made some great progress this season, and with several new owners joining us and more improvements planned, the park will continue to develop and look better week by week.

As for the road noise, we completely understand your comment. Being close by does mean you can hear traffic at times, though many guests find that the peaceful riverside setting more than makes up for it.

Thank you again for your feedback — we really appreciate it and hope to welcome you back in the future.

Lugares de interés

Presumably you’ll want to start in Worcester – and that’s a good choice, whether you amble along the riverbank or take the five-minute drive. Once you’re in the city centre, stop by at the cathedral and the Tudor House Museum for a sense of the area’s history and admire the pretty pieces on display at the Museum of Royal Worcester. There’s more history to be explored at places like the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings (20 minutes’ drive), where you can see a collection of restored and rebuilt buildings of various kinds, and the smart Eastnor Castle (half an hour) and Snowshill Manor and Gardens (40 minutes). Meanwhile, music buffs can follow the Elgar Route to take in some of the scenery that inspired the composer and see some of the places where he lived and worked. For some outdoor time, explore the grounds of Spetchley Park Gardens (five minutes), which has been in the same family for over 400 years, or head to the highest point in the Malvern Hills at Worcestershire Beacon (20 minutes).
