  • Family-run dog-friendly farm site in Cropredy village
  • A 20-minute drive to British Motor Museum; 40 mins to Blenheim Palace
  • Wood-fired pizzas on busy weekends; a short walk to pubs and cafés
Fancy a farm stay, but not so keen on the idea of navigating little country lanes? Set off to Oxfordshire and The Old Dairy Farm Caravan and Camping: getting here involves a mere 10-minute detour from the M40 at Banbury. That location makes this a most handy spot for motorway stopovers, but there’s plenty around to please those who choose to stay longer too. However long you stay at this family-run farm, you’ll not want to miss out on meeting the pygmy goats and free-range chickens and peering into the aviary; once the kids have done that, send them off for a proper run about on the large recreational field to tire them out before bedtime. Handy too are the smart and well-maintained facilities, including a toilet block, showers, a washing-up area, water supply and Elsan point. The wood-fired pizza oven gets going on busy weekends (and it’s also available for private hire if you’re having a gathering). Don’t worry if there’s no pizza action while you’re here: it’ll take just a few minutes to walk to Cropredy’s pubs, cafés and shop (or its play park). It’s also possible to walk to the Oxford Canal and River Cherwell for waterside wanders, and a short drive will get you out into the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for more walks, plus golf courses, fishing lakes and National Trust estates. In the main this is a peaceful site, but it's worth noting that a rail line passes fairly close by so you may hear a bit of noise from the pitches (or even spot trains – much to the delight of young rail enthusiasts).

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked I stopped overnight on my way down to London for a reunion. With the online booking everything was super easy, just show up and pitch up kind of thing! All the facilities felt clean and very well looked after. 10/10 would recommended.

10-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Quiet after 9 at night.

Disliked Pitches too close together. Random parking of car at tent pitches. Toilets absolutely rank although how much of that was lack of cleaning or poor standards of other campers I don’t know. Not enough showers and toilets for size of site and showers were not the cleanest either. Rubbish area was piled high with bags of rubbish spilling out of full bins.

6-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful . Food and bar were efficient and perfectly placed - great communal / undercover areas and good music! Animals and birds were very popular as was the playpark and bouncy castles.

Good sized pitches and sandy ground meant easy pitching even though we’d had very little rain and it was a heatwave.

Walk into Copredy along the canal was perfect and enjoyed a coffee and ice cream at the quirky cafe near the bridge. It was too hot to do anything else though!!

Well stocked shop with essentials and not crazy prices. HUGE Tesco very nearby.

Toilets and showers clean and well stocked with loo roll etc.

Loved the option to hire fire pits and get logs onsite.

Wonderful site and we will be back!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Great location, near a nice little village called Cropredy. Staff were very friendly, the on site bar, shop, and kitchen are all very good. Pygmy goats were entertaining too!

Disliked Drones being used on site. Saw at least one tent and car (separate pitches) get hit by these when kids were playing with them. Noisy too and made some dogs start barking at them!

10-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Everything! Beautiful, well maintained site. Lovely little park area for the kids, including 2 big bouncy castles! The kids loved feeding the goats and looking at the birds too!
Really friendly and helpful staff. Food was lovely (wood fired pizzas!) and really reasonable prices for food and drinks at the bar.
Showers and toilet facilities clean and well maintained. Good size pitches. Good price to extend check out day if pitch is available too.
5 minute walk to the canal which is a lovely walk down into Cropredy.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The campsite had such a lovely atmosphere. The toilet and shower facilities were mostly clean and although the campsite seemed quite full, we never had to wait for either. You can choose where you set up pitch which was great as we were meeting friends there so we could pitch up together. The on site shop was very affordable and the ice creams for only £1 each were a saving grace in the heat! The animals are super cute and the girls even brought owls round the camp training them and were really friendly and informative.

Disliked The trains going past did startle me a couple of times the first night. (Obviously not something that can be helped but I would recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper)

Local attractions

Coming to the Cotswolds for a bit of fresh air and gentle activity? Set forth for fishing at Clattercote Reservoir, or tee off at Cherwell Edge Golf Course; both are about 10 minutes away by car. Country walking routes are plentiful too, of course, as are fine buildings to mooch around. Blenheim Palace (40 minutes’ drive) is perhaps the best known of all the Oxfordshire stately homes (and with good reason, for ’tis fab) but it’s worth taking a look at some others too, including Farnborough Hall (10 minutes), Sulgrave Manor (20 minutes) and Upton House and Gardens (20 minutes). For a break from the classic Cotswolds activities, head out to meet the big birds of Fir Tree Falconry (15 minutes) or sigh over all the shiny machines at the British Motor Museum (20 minutes). And if you’re in need of a tipple or two to accompany your barbecue back at base, there are some excellent local ones to be acquired at Hook Norton Brewery (25 minutes) and the Cotswolds Distillery (half an hour).
