Comfortable.

Apr 2026

Liked Plenty of pitches to choose from. The location was good.

Disliked We used the showers near the entrance and these did not have anywhere to put things down on or sit on to put socks and shoes on. The one I used did have 3 hooks and a toilet in but the others in this block were not like that. Take a bag to put your stuff in whilst you’re in the shower. There were also no hairdryers so I had to crouch under the hand dryer to dry my hair. There’s also no shelves at the sinks so nowhere to put your toothbrush or make up down.

Quiet and basic but still good.

Apr 2026

Liked In the middle of the countryside. There were toilets and showers which was great and the building was warm. WiFi was good.

Disliked The washing up area was exposed to the elements so I was drying up but everything was getting wet from the rain! Nowhere to plug a hairdryer in in the shower block. You could hear the road noise - not a terrible level but enough that you were aware of it.

Good location and friendly owner

Aug 2025

Liked The location, the friendliness of the welcome and the helpfulness of the owner, the music in the bathrooms, the showers, the WiFi code from the owner

Disliked The nearby cockerel who woke us up early in the morning but we did get back to sleep. This was the first campsite in our trip (11 days so far) that didn’t offer pre ordered croissants etc in the morning. He did give me directions to the nearest boulangerie (200m or so away) but they only had baguettes left when I got there at 9.15am. The campsite owner did say he was considering offering this next year though.

A great little campsite with super hosts. Would definitely stay again

Aug 2025

Liked The location, the friendliness of Cal and Simon, the petiteness of it (only about 10 pitches), the view of the castle, the delivery of your croissants to you in the morning in a little bread basket, the pool.

Disliked Noting.

A great campsite with everything you need.

Aug 2025

Liked The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the toilets and showers, being able to order croissants etc for breakfast the next day, a pizza delivery evening, the pool. There are activities on every day but it’s not a massive campsite which is nice.

Disliked Nothing.

An excellent campsite - would throughly recommend.

Jul 2024

Liked This was such a lovely campsite. There are a couple of fields with about 8 glamping tents in them, well spread out but you can also pitch your own tents among them. We were 10 people, aged 17-58, and we had 2 glamping tents next to each other and then our own large tent for the younger people. The glamping tents were gorgeous, each with their own character, very comfortable beds with the double bed made up, bedside tables, and little shelf unit at the end of the bed, towels, and crockery and cutlery for 4, as well as cooking utensils, a camping cupboard, a stove, and a fire pit. Oh, and 4 chairs for each tent. There is a converted horse box with a kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer, and washing up sink. And enough sockets to be able to plug your phones in to charge. There are 2 rustic looking toilets each for men and women, with the women’s ones being decorated with wallpaper inside, and a rustic looking shower. But they were all fine. We were dubious to start with but once we’d used them, we realised they were perfectly fine. There was also a compost toilet in the smaller field - only some of us used that! There are sheep and alpacas wandering round the campsite - the baby alpaca was especially curious about our dogs, who were equally curious but they got used to each other and all were well behaved. The sheep and alpacas are used to dogs as Jackie, the owner, has 4. We were in the smaller field by ourselves and our dogs were able to stay off the lead the whole time, even with the sheep and alpacas around, which was fab. This would obviously depend on your dog (ours were a cockerpoo and a miniature Schnauzer). Jackie was fabulous. She brought round wood each day for the fire pits, collected the rubbish from the campsite bins, and even took our recycling (as we’d separated it from the main rubbish). She doesn’t let the campsite get too busy so even though this was a hot summer weekend at the start of the school holidays, it was calm and peaceful. And because of that, we hardly had to wait for the shower. We were about 5 minutes from Tenterden which is a lovely town, with a Waitrose and Tesco. Rye was also gorgeous. We would highly recommend and would definitely go back there.

Disliked Nothing. It was superb. Another shower would be a bonus but that’s the only thing.

A great place to stay and ideally located.

Aug 2020

Liked This is a great campsite - new for 2020. It's set on the top of hill with gorgeous views over the Cornish countryside, although not towards the sea. It's on a slope but there are flat areas. You could basically pitch your tent anywhere and there were no restrictions about how close tents could be so if you're camping with friends, you can have your tents really close if you want. One side is tents and the other is motorhomes. In between is the shower block and washing facilities. The ladies have 4 showers and 4 toilets, and 3 sinks. There are also 2 hairdryers which are free. The bathroom is very spacious. There is a bench where the hairdryers are. We went during Covid-19 and there was special spray to spray the sinks after each use and they were cleaned regularly. There are 3 sinks in the washing up area, along with 5 communal fridges where you can leave your cold stuff so long as it's named which is great. There's also a couple of plug sockets for charging your phone, along with the WiFi code. Next door is a laundry room (which we didn't use) and also a plug in there which our teenager used for charging his phone! There's also a spacious disabled toilet. We arrived on a Friday and left on a Tuesday. There was a wood-fired pizza service there on Friday evening, pulled pork burgers on Saturday evening, and roast pork and sticky toffee pudding on Sunday evening. There was also a stall there Friday-Sunday which sold fresh bread, milk, eggs, fruit, veggies, cakes. Oh, and also in the mornings there was a coffee van selling various coffees and hot chocolates and teas which was fab. In this area were also plenty of picnic benches. The site is linked to the butchers in Perranporth so you can also order BBQ packs if you want. It's a dog friendly site - keep your dog on a lead in the camping area but there is also a dog walking field where you can let your dog off, and there is a poo bin there as well. On the outside of the shower block is a low handheld shower where you can rinse your dog off if necessary but it is freezing cold water. It was too cold for our puppy so my son stood under one of the 2 outside showers in his swimming shorts and held him whilst we washed him there. You can have BBQs and fire pits there - they also have fire pits available for hire (£2/night when we were there), and you can also buy coal, kindling, wood, etc. It's about a 3 minute drive into Perranporth and you can also walk over the cliffs into Perranporth which was lovely. That takes about 25-30 minutes, I would say. There were about 3 different routes to take. There's a separate are for bins and recycling. The owners were friendly and helpful. Altogether a great place to stay and we'd go back.

Disliked The only downside was that there was only 1 hook in the shower cubicle so you have to hang everything on there - it would be nice to either have a seat (which stays dry) or another hook. Being on the top of a hill, it can also be a bit windy at times.
